A Hotel with Vaa Vaa Voom!

Advantages: Very comfortable and right in the centre
Disadvantages: none

...stay at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza. It is right in the centre of the city just down from the Central Station. Dam Square is on the corner and the canals, shops and museums are all very close by. The hotel itself has 270 bedrooms and they are all furnished to the highest standards with mini bar, television and all the usual commodities. We were on the top floor and had a fantastic view at night, but it did get rather cold in the room and they had ...
...period and the weather outside was very cold so it was understandable. There is a fitness centre with a pool, sauna and solarium and we used it a couple of times. I liked the thick white fluffy towelling robes that they provided. (I didn't pinch one when I left I swear it!) Ladies be careful if you use the changing rooms. I was busy drying myself and an Italian chap with his two teenage sons just strolled into the ladies changing room to use a sauna, ...

Superb Amsterdam Stay

Advantages: Comfort, central, BREAKFAST
Disadvantages: Walking at night

I stayed at the Radisson SAS Centre last month (July 05) with 2 friends. At £160 a night for a triple room this wasn't cheap but not too bad split between the 3 of us and it included breakfast. And of course 5 star hotels generally don't come cheap anyway! I have broken the review down under significant headings, hope this is of help to others: ARRIVAL/RECEPTION On approaching the hotel the first thing I noticed was its size, it took up most of ...
...looked very nice, and once we were in it looked even better! The huge atrium area has a glass roof with rooms overlooking it, this immediately created a good impression. It was very spacious with leather sofas to sit on, a garden area and waterfall feature up some steps - all creating a lovely atmosphere. There were 3 reception desks and we were checked in by a pleasant woman. ROOM We took the lift up to our room - even the lift was nicely decorated! ...

Long gone glory

Advantages: Great location at Damrak square, inexpensive for a "5-star" hotel
Disadvantages: Old-fashioned interieur & run-down furniture, no goodwill when complaining about bad room condition

I have stayed several times in the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam and I always thought it's a nice affordable 5-star hotel. The location is unbeatable, it lies just opposite the royal palace on Damrak Square. It's only one or two stops from the central station, if you are travelling light, you can even walk which will take you about 10 minutes. The downside of the location is that Damrak Square is full of drug dealers - they sell not the ...
...stuff. The hotel itself consists of a whole block of buildings which historically were merged into the the hotels body. So you will find a lot of different room types. The most expensive ones are high ceiling rooms facing Damrak Square. The interieur of the rooms is at least 20 years old, if not older. Few people know that the Krasnapolsky also offers apartments for long term stays. By chance I was able to stay in one of those for a few days and ...

Stunning Hotel

Advantages: Modern room features. Excellent food and drink. Fantastic Service
Disadvantages: Can't think of any!

...lot better standard than other renaissance hotels. It was modern and spacious with large lcd television, desk area and table with two comfy chairs. THe bathroom was also modern and well done out with an excellent range of complimentry toiletries. As part of the package we booked under we had access to the club lounge. I would recommend anybody to do this as it is fantastic. The club lounge is a room only open to those with a club lounge keycard and ...

Club lounge benefits offers free soft drinks and coffee all day with continental breakfast and snacks through the day. Between 5.30pm and 9.30pm alcoholic drinks are also free which includes wine beer spirits anything you want and they also bring out more hot snacks. Free internet is provided and staff working in there are so friendly and ...

Advantages: Service

...stay at the 5 start Hilton Amsterdam (with direct flights from Cardiff with KLM) for approximately £280 pp. The hotel is about 15 minutes in a cab from Schipol airport (approximately 30 euro) which is what we opted for, although the Airport – Hotel shuttle bus stops outside the hotel and there is a tram stop just around the corner. On arriving at the hotel, which is in a quiet residential area, just outside the main centre, you are greeted by a ...
