Studio 14 B&B is the friendliest experience ever.
Advantages: Close to attractions and night life Disadvantages: didn't have a kettle in room
This is the best place to stay, especially if you are going on a hen or stag weekend like my girls did. We had a laugh from the beginning of our stay and didn't want to leave. The staff are very friendly and up for a laugh too. The staff were willing to help with anything we asked for especially with the heavy bags. The hotel is very close to the main attractions and all transport. Al tho close to the attractions i was very surprised at how quiet ...

AWFUL PLACE. Terribly rude staff. Stay away.
Advantages: None Disadvantages: Unclean apartments. Disrespectful and rude staff. Overpriced.
The service at this place was some of the worst i've ever seen. The staff neglected to mention that the hallway doors lock from the inside, so when i left without a key I was trapped in the hallway for half an hour. After waiting for some time in a hot and poorly ventilated stairwell (as well as knocking on the only two doors available) I began banging on the walls to try to get someone's attention in the office next door. When the manager finally ... ...to get mad at me for making noise! He was exceedingly rude and pompous, saying that I should have waited even longer for the next person to come by, as if I didn't have anything better to do than sit in a stairwell on my vacation. I had no phone service(American phone), and no one coming back any time soon, so I had absolutely no other recourse in the situation than to call for help. The staff should have been apologetic since this was THEIR fault ...

Stunning Hotel
Advantages: Modern room features. Excellent food and drink. Fantastic Service Disadvantages: Can't think of any!
...lot better standard than other renaissance hotels. It was modern and spacious with large lcd television, desk area and table with two comfy chairs. THe bathroom was also modern and well done out with an excellent range of complimentry toiletries. As part of the package we booked under we had access to the club lounge. I would recommend anybody to do this as it is fantastic. The club lounge is a room only open to those with a club lounge keycard and ... ...of the other guests. Not many guests come here mostly business men so is quiet and extremely quiet in the day. Club lounge benefits offers free soft drinks and coffee all day with continental breakfast and snacks through the day. Between 5.30pm and 9.30pm alcoholic drinks are also free which includes wine beer spirits anything you want and they also bring out more hot snacks. Free internet is provided and staff working in there are so friendly and ...

Blue Square Hotel- Apparently near, yet so far.
Advantages: Lovely bedrooms, large shower, bar staff friendly, luggage room to leave bags. Disadvantages: Too far from city centre, transport costs to hotel very dear, area undesirable.
...he booked us into the Blue Square Hotel, and proudly showed me the documents he had printed off and the website. "Looks lovely, oh it says it's close to the town centre- within walking distance- can't wait!" was my reaction. Out of the airport we trundled a few weeks later with our cases and got into a waiting taxi. He drove us to the hotel. It took a LONG time. As he was unloading our cases with us he said "This is not a good area for you." I asked ... ...was wrong. The Blue Square Hotel is over 15 minutes away from the town centre by tram and certainly cannot be done on foot. The trams are quite expensive as prices have gone up and a taxi will set you back £40. The hotel exterior looks like a disused swimming baths but the interior is lovely. The room we were sent to found us barging in on another couple in bed having a lie in, and we were mortified. We returned to reception and they could not apologise ...

Exceptional service in the capital of "Don't Care"
Advantages: Super service, nice rooms Disadvantages: Not everyone will like the temporary nature of parts of the hotel
Arrival and Check In
We arrived by taxi from the airport - it took about 10 minutes and I can't say what it cost as I managed to stitch up the colleague I was with who was going on to the Mercure and so fell foul of the 'last one out picks up the bill' rule. My first impressions were mixed because the Novotel is currently undergoing a major renovation programme and the reception is camped out in what appears to be a marquee. I've had some ... ...so I was a bit nervous when I realised what was going on at this one. However, the charm and friendliness of the place soon put me at ease. The receptionist was astonishingly friendly which for any hotel in the Dutch capital (a city renowned for it's stroppy staff in a country with the worst 'don't give a damn' attitude in Europe) was a refreshing change. I have had several serious bust-ups with receptionists in Amsterdam hotels over the years ranging ...
