Advantages: Nice Weather, Paradise for tourists Disadvantages: Boring for young people, not much nightlife
...I have been to SriLanka about 8 times in my life because my parents are singhales and we always go back there to visit family. As I've grown up my opinions of SriLanka have changed so much. When I was young I always looked forward to going to SriLanka with my parents as I had so much more freedom there than I would in England. I used to run around on my grandparents estate climbing trees and playing with the animals. Another thing I really enjoyed about going to SriLanka was I got to visit the Yala elephant orphange which was such a good experience.
Now that I've grown up though I do not enjoy going to SriLanka as much as it isn't a very modern place and there isn't much to do.

...anyone, anywhere should visit srilanka- but be fully prepared to fall helplessly, completly and wantantly in love; with the island, the people, the climate- the very essence of the country.
srilanka lays south of india, a teardrop shaped island in the currents of the indian ocean. the weather is tropical and the beaches beautiful- but one of the most fufilling aspects about a holiday here, is that you could only ever be here. it is completly different to any other holiday destination i know, the experiencre is a truly sri lankan one.
theres buddhist temples for the culture vultures, unspoilt beaches for the sun worshipers, exciting flavours for the cuisine team, wildlife a plenty for the animal lovers- and the warmth and excubrience of the people for the rest of us. srilanka is wonderful- experience it!!...

Advantages: perfect weather, glorious beaches, lots of history, lovely people Disadvantages: long aeroplane flight!!
...i had always wanted to go to the maldives - it was my idea of paradise so when my then boyfriend proposed we decided that our honeymoon would be the perfect oppertunity to have a holiday there. (once in a lifetime thing!)
we then decided that as neither of us are into big fancy white weddings, we would get married abroad, the problem being that we couldn't actually get married in the Maldives. I then saw in may brochures these twin centre holidays where you can spend a week or two in srilanka, get married there and then fly off to the maldives for the honeymoon... perfect.
this was the only initial reason i choose to go to srilanka 1. it was near the maldives for our honeymoon and 2. it was nice and cheap so didn't add too much cost to our holiday.
although i was looking forward to our wedding, i must admit, i wasn't really...
