The Anchor Guest House is situated in the city centre. From Dublin Airport, travel on the 747 (Easily caught from outside the airport exit, well signposted and regular) Stay on the bus until Dublin Bus Station, the Anchor Guest House is situated in Lower Gardiner Street which is just round the corner from the bus station.
The Guest House is a town house with a new extension on the back. There are a few steps to go up and I have not seen a ramp. From the entrance hall, up about 10 stairs you walk through a sitting room to the extension which has a lift.
The rooms are all well presented, clean and tidy with Television and en-suite bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. A tea tray will be put in the room for an extra small payment and will be filled up everyday.
We have only stayed in twin rooms, but they will let them to a single person for a supplement, family and double rooms are available.
Prices start from approx. £19 in low season (including breakfast) There is a full price list on the internet, with an enquiry and booking service. Their web address is: www.anchorguesthouse.com
When booking they take your credit card details, no deposit is taken, unless you do not turn up, then it is deducted from your card.
They answer any questions quickly, booking is very easy through their booking page, just fill in the rooms, dates you require and they email back the same day or at the lastest the next day with availability.
All keys have to be left at reception when going out, there is a box provided to put them in. The front door is locked for security, but someone lets you in when you ring the bell. I don't think there is a time to be in because they have a night porter.
The rooms are non-smoking but there is a sitting room for smokers with a television and book shelves, books can be borrowed by guests or swapped for one of your own.
There is a nice dining room, breakfast is from 8am until 10 am. There is a choice of:
More information would be nice. What were the staff like? Were there any house rules like what time they locked up? Are reservations necessary? Is it cheap/expensive?

Nice general review but it'd need more detail to get a better rating. If you add more I'll re-rate it no problem. Used to go to Dublin all the time so I might just keep an eye out for this place

Hi there. It would have been useful to learn about the price per night for rooms (single / double / twin / family rooms), info about booking - do they have a website, is there a central booking agency, do you need a credit card to confirm your book - for debitting in the event of a no-show? What off-street / on-street parking facilities are available, how well equipped are the rooms for disabled guests (e.g. height of washing facilities, baths, showers, wheel-chair ramps etc.) Hope this feedback helps you - if you edit your op, leave me a message in my guestbook and I will gladly re-read and re-rate this op.
