As a seasoned skier I have visited many resorts in many different countries. My wife enjoys ski lessons and has been to many different ski schools. We have found Andorran instructors to be the best of the bunch though!
In the past we have found that the Ecole Du Ski Francais (main french ski school) only emplot French instructors and that the language barrier can often be a problem when instructing English groups. However, in all four major resorts, Arinsal, Soldeu, Encamp and Pas De La Casa they have a team of instructors made up of Italians, Spanish, English, Austrian and New Zealenders, as well as various other nationalities. This enables the afore mentioned problem to be overcome. All the instructors we have come into contact with have had a sound understanding of the English language and their teaching has been of a high standard! They are competent and teach a up to date techniques. We have also found them to be very friendly, warm and welcoming which has added much to our trips.
Although Andorra may not have some of the best slopes for beginners I would still give it a 4/5 rating for beginners. However, if you do chose to visit Andorra I would recommend that you do not visit at the start or end of the season as there may be a lack of snow for the resort to be fully open. Happy ski-ing!!!
