Advantages: Truly magnificent views of Whitsundays. Handy base for exploring other islands by ferry. Disadvantages: Could be considered impersonal - high rise resort style holiday.
Reef View hotel, Hamilton Island offers magnificent views of the Whitsundays. Travellers tip is to stay on the upper floors - These are the Coral sea rooms it's much quieter, and the views are better. It's worth paying a little more to do this. Lower floors - known as Garden View - (especially near the night club/bar) tend to be a bit noisy from my experience.
MY EXPERIENCE AT REEF VIEW
I stayed here earlier this year (2008), found the rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. I paid $290 (Australian) per night toom rate (approx 118 pounds) - a rate which included full buffet breakfast daily. They also gave me a free day cruise out to the Barrier Reef which was a highlight. So what tipple do you think makes a Duskmaiden tipsy? Well actually I like a wide variety of alcoholic drinks depending on my mood. When I want something refreshing and fruity I often to\urn to Reef. Yes I know it is a teenyboppers drink but I do quite like it!! So when I was in Kwik Save doing a mini shop I was delighted to see a new flavour of Reef. Great I thought. Something noice to drink and something I can review fir Ciao (well I think that of any product from Rice Pudding to Washing Up Liquid!) The new flavour in question is Pear and grape by the way.

Advantages: An okay vocal performance from John Rhys-Davies. Disadvantages: An appalling waste of pixels.
After his parents are scooped up by a net, young fish Pi has to relocate to the reef where he meets beautiful Cordelia. Computer-generated animation has come a long way in the past ten years, but you wouldn?t know it to look at this shoddy pile of drivel. It?s hard to believe there were three directors working on it, the quality is so appalling. Most of the animation was farmed out to a studio in South Korea, where it is cheaper and quicker to produce.
