Advantages: comfy red booths Disadvantages: bad food at premium prices
I was recently out spending a night on the town with my dear hubby (the shoelace whose name I have neatly appropriated for the purpose of writing on Ciao) when we decided to treat ourselves to a steak dinner. As Australians we feel that we have a certain steak savvy that is lacking in other, more steak-deprived countries such as England and so we sought out an establishment that looked like it knew what it was doing. Oh how wrong we were! But we ... ...entrance to the steak house (in this case the Aberdeen steakhouse at Leicester Square) we were suitably impressed with its comfy looking plush red booths, and when we were ushered to a quiet corner with a booth for two (albeit side by side rather than facing each other in a romantic, staring into each others eyes fashion) we thought it was marvelous. The dimmed lighting – at least I think it was dimmed it just might have seemed dim because the deep ...

Advantages: I can' think of any Disadvantages: Loads!
...We settled for the Angus Steakhouse, as it seemed to provide something for everyone, and it was relativaley empty .... at this point we should have questioned why!!
The steakhouse itself from the outside is actually well presented. We were greeted by a young waiter, whose english left a little to be desired. Being five of us, he seemed to panic at finding us a table for five!! (their tables appear to only cater for four people max!!!)
***Interior ... ...a lot ... to be desired!!!, the very brightly coloured carpet, I hadn't seen since I was 5 years old at my grandmothers!!! The seating was a bright red pvc with dark tables. The tables are right on top of each other, and a great squeeze to get between. Not the best place for an intimate meal for 2 (thankfully that wasn't what we were there for). The fact that after about 5 minutes of being their the place was packed, and we found ourselves sitting ...

Advantages: Difficult to think of any Disadvantages: As far from a decent meal as one could get for the price
Four people for an after-matinee early supper. What a disappointment! Mediocre food, overpriced, shocking presentation. Steaks were OK but very ordinary - neither seasoned nor garnished. It came as a piece of steak and a couple of lettuce leaves, any thing to go with it was a side order at extra cost. Pasta meal arrived cool, and had to be returned; replacement only slightly better. Chicken kebab was dry on a large pile of totally plain rice - all ...

What a place Review ofAngus Steakhouse, Aberdeen, Londonby
delpino
Advantages: unfriendly, noisy, overpriced Disadvantages: not much..
...go to one of these Angus / Aberdeen Restaurants. When we went into the restaurant they gave us a table near a place where they pile up the dirty plates. That was not only very loud but also a quite unsightly view. After they took our order we waited what seemed like ages. When the food was served by the unfriendly waitress we could finally start eating. But there were many surprises yet to come. First there was a mosquito in the salad and the pineapple ... ...they charged us £8.90 for the salad, but on the menu it was about the half price. When we asked about this they said the gave us the "big portion". My wife said she has not ordered the "big" one. So they corrected the bill. Outside we looked at the menu again. And there was a big salad, but this one was with egg and artichoke, which wasn't included in the salad. To top it all of they have service charge and a so-called cover charge per person of ...

Advantages: good food Disadvantages: understaffed, cramped tables, expensive
The Aberdeen Angus Steakhouse is a chain of American style restaurants, the first branded restaurants in London infact in 1976. I recently visited the one in Leicester Square for something to eat before going to see Chicago at the theatre. We came across the restaurant by accident, took a look at the menu and although it seemed rather expensive decided to go in for a meal. From the moment I stepped inside I got the feeling it was rather strange, ... ...London restaurant it seemed understaffed and the tables were very cramped in order to pack as many people in as possible. Seeing as we were in a bit of a hurry to get to the show we decided to skip the starters and go straight to the main course. Both of us went for the New York Strip Steak at £18.50 each; quite expensive considering that was just for the steak. If you wanted a side order of chips or salad it cost an extra £3.00 which I thought was ...
