This is an elegant restaurant in a historic building in the beautiful Piazza dei Signori, right in the heart of Verona. The cuisine is very traditional with seasonal dishes. The menu includes fresh sturgeon with vegetables, warm Adriatic Salad, Noodles in Duck Sauce and pike from Lake Garda, served with polenta. The excellent grilled fish platter should definitely be sampled. There is a good selection of wines as well as delicate desserts with which to finish an excellent dinner.
...I visited Verona in the spring, and stayed at a youth hostel in the city. Traditionally *that* balcony is what everyone thinks of in connection with Verona. Of course there is plenty more to see and do in Verona, and the amphitheatre is a must. Food is fairly cheap, and this can be done on a budget quite comfortably. The one thing I would not recommend Verona for is going out drinking, as alcohol is notoriously expensive in Verona, but then again that is not the main reason to go there. I went in March and the weather was very pleasant, and the city very safe and clean. By the way, do go and visit Romeo and Juliet's balcony, if only to see the throngs and their flashbulbs!...

...Having lived on the island of Sardinia, Italy for two years of my life, my family has made quite a few friends in Italy. One of my best friends that I have kept it contact with throughout the years, is my friend Paoli, who still lives in Italy. From time to time, Paoli, sends me and now my wife and I tickets to come out and visit him, and view the country he loves so much. As I have been to quite a few different cities, three weeks worth on my visit just last year with my wife, I have seen a great deal of Italy. If you wish to know where to visit and when to visit, please feel free to look at my other reviews on Italy, listed at the bottom of this review. I plan to write out reviews on the some thirty cities that I have been to throughout the country of Italy. Feel free to read them all.
Verona is one of the most famous literary cities...

...Verona in a day is an experience made more difficult when the temperature is nearing 100 degrees in the shade. Unless you want to see the inside of the air conditioned restaurants that it has to offer of course.
Nevertheless, the Arena has to be worth a look whatever the weather, although if it's that hot you're totally exposed to sunburn and/or sunstroke. Imagination is a bonus as you walk out of the darkness and face the open areas, and it helps if you've recently watched "Gladiator".
Verona without a guidebook is also an experience, and if it wasn't for all the hordes of people heading towards Juliet's house, you may miss the small side street where you'll find the balcony and the statue. It hardly seems to matter that they were fictional characters. Inside the house is more interesting, and being able to stand on the balcony (hence...
