Jolly Beach Resort, Antigua - November 2006 Advantages: excellent value for money, watersports included with good tuition offered Disadvantages: rooms are small and functional but how much time do you spend in your room ...have just returned from the Jolly beach Resort, Antigua. We were a party of 9 , age range from 19 - 60. This is a great place for a group holiday but also suitable for families and couples. The non motorised water sports are free, excellent tuition is offered and there are plenty of sail boats, canoes, windsurfers available for use, we never had to wait. Also available are jet skis at a very reasonable cost of 20 us$ (about £11) for 15 minutes. ... ...available, a choice of an itialian, indian and fish restaurant as well as a buffet choice every evening. The standard of food is good and the service friendly. There is a nice harbour within five minutes walk of the hotel , with local shops and a supermarket. There is a shop on the resort complex. There are plenty of tours available, mostly involving boat trips, glass bottomed boats to a reef, fast catamaran tours around the island. Caribbean Hotel Heaven Advantages: The food, hammock, room and the staff Disadvantages: zero ...2006. We stayed at the Coconut Beach Club, and thought the place was brilliant. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax and do very little, at the best price in Antigua, this is the hotel for you. The hotel is located beside Yepton Beach on the west of the island, about 20 minute's taxi from the airport in St John's (the capital of Antigua). Our package deal was with Virgin Holidays so transfers to, and from the airport were included in the ... ...is the 'redcaps'. They are locals, wearing red caps, who 'helpfully' start loading your bags onto a trolley without your permission, the second you take them off the baggage carrousel, to take them out to the taxi rank. Of course they want payment for this service, so you have to insist they leave you alone as soon as they start to grab your bags. Heaven in a hut Advantages: Tranquil, friendly, clean, value for money and more Disadvantages: Maybe to quiet for those who would like entertainment Cocos is a heavenly experience in beautiful maintained grounds, exotic flowers all around. Stunning views out to sea and neighbouring islands from your room, bar, restaurant and pool, you cannot escape the beauty of the island when at cocos. Fourteen huts, mine was number seven which was the deluxe room, it looked directly out to sea with only a few tufts of grass below, spacious acommodation with dark wood flooring, huge four poster bed, bathroom ... ...before I went and found cocos was the top restaurant on the island, for the food and location and I totally agree. Breakfast and lunch is only available to people staying at cocos, this gave a huge selection to choose from and I personally eat anything but my husband is more the meat and two veg kind of guy so while breakfast and lunch gave a good mixture of basic plus more exotic meals the dinners were more of the exotic variety, but as you are ... A worth it resort Advantages: All inclusive Disadvantages: quiet This resort was really superb, just next to the sea. Really quiet depending period you travelling there. In October we were only 20-25 people. We got all-inclusive deal which wasn't ideal as most of the time we did all day excursion. The only good thing about all-inclusive a was very good (English) breakfast and twenty different cocktails!! The room got of course air-conditioned and really tidy.
