Apartamentos Carlos V, Alcudia

Advantages: loads of pools to choose from, good staff, cheap

...i went here a few years ago with my parents, brother and sister. the first thing i remember is that the canals in alcudia smell really bad at night! no reflection on the apartments, thats just alcudia! the actual apartments were basic self catering, clean and nice maids. there are a quite a few pools and you can use any you like, so obviously the kids love that. not too far to walk to the beach, and you can also hire bikes and take them outside the complex. the staff were really friendly and helpful, and the lifts and that were clean and always working - very unusual! alcuai itself is good for families, as its not too quiet but not like magaluf either! iwouldnt want to go now with my mates, but if i had kids i would take them there.... Advantages: very family orientated, but theres plenty clubs and pubs if you like the nightlife!
Disadvantages: none that i can think of theres something for everyone

...I've been to Alcudia about 5 times now, so its obvious I like the place! There's 3 areas of it which all run into each other and doesnt take long to get from one place to another. Playa de Muro, filled with hotels, pubs, restaurants etc. Alcudia itself, which again has things to do during the day, plenty shops and the Port of Alcudia which is lovely as its the oldest, more traditional part of the town. Alcudia is lovely, with plenty for kids and adults to do. There's the hydropark tehre, an outdoor water park with lots of slids. There's also plenty cafes, bars and resturants and some clubs as well. one of them is called Menta from what I remember was great!! The locals are all friendly and english is spoken everywhere. The local language is Mallorquin, which is a dialect of Spanish. Alcudia is set in the north east of Spain... Read review

Advantages: Quiet resort, fantastic beaches, lovely old town with market
Disadvantages: High kerbs are difficult for those with pushchairs

...We had an excellent holiday in Alcudia in May this year, with our 2 and 4 year old boys. I can't comment on the resort in mid-Summer, but in May we had a very enjoyable time. Alcudia is a quiet town in comparison to other more developed parts of Majorca and mainland Spain. All the hotels are fairly modern and well maintained. The streets are clean, although steep kerbs make it tough for those with pushchairs. The old town of Alcudia is beautiful and traditional, with lots of nice tapas restaurants. The highlight of the old town is the twice-weekly market, held just outside the ancient walls - only problem was that none of the vendors were willing to haggle, prices seemed to be set in stone. But lots of good quality leather goods and other items. Beaches are large, with powdery sand and plenty of loungers and parasols for a small fee... Read review
