Advantages: Very family friendly, good range of restaurants Disadvantages: None!
We went here in November 1998 and it snowed, so no summer-time experience here ;)
It is a very pretty port, with a lovely marina and a great variety of restaurants and shops (yes, even in November!) We stayed along the Pine Walk in a privately owned apartment (www.clubpollensa.co.uk) which is a very picturesque setting. The beach along this end of the town isn't very big, but it does shelve gently and is lovely white sand, so it's ideal for children, there is a man-made beach on the opposite side of the marina, though this is quite a walk from Pine Walk.
Very much "Spanish" :o)

After a chilly first visit, we decided to give PuertoPollensa a summertime visit in June 2004.
Once again, we stayed in a privately owned property, this time a huge apartment at the Pine Walk side of town.
The resort had ...
Advantages: Great beach, very attractive, good shopping Disadvantages: Poor for sight seeing, long transfer, no trendy nightlife
Puerta Pollensa is about 75 minutes transfer from the airport and is located in the extreme north east of Majorca.
The town itself is notable for its extensive harbour with lots of local fishing boats, holiday boats and some bigger cruisers. It also has an excellent beach stretching towards Alcudia. The beach is clean and sandy. It has hamacas and parasols all the way along (2000 charge was 1300 ptas for two hamacas and a parasol per day. You can of course use the beach free of charge. The sea at PP is excellent because the resort is sheltered and therefore the sea is quite calm. It also gets a good breeze which means it is often the coolest place in the resort. For swimming and for childrens safety the whole seafront is very good. The beach also has resources for hobie cats, wind surfing, and the banana.
From the harbour boats are ...
If you are considering PuertoPollensa as a family holiday destination do not hesitate. Having just come back from two glorious weeks I heartily recommend it. PuertoPollensa is a quiet resort in the north of Majorca. It is situated in a beautiful bay and as a good beach and a wide variety of good restaurants. The accommodation that we stayed in was very good (Habitat apartments). It had 3 swimming pools, nightly entertainment and children?s activities during the day. Whether you enjoy beach/pool holidays or want to travel PuertoPollensa is a great place. The bus service is very good. You can visit busy Alcudia or if you like something even quieter and idyllic Cala San Vicente. A 15-minute bus ride gets you to Cala San Vicente, which is possibly the most beautiful place on the Island. Even so Cala San Vicente is amazingly quiet. It has ...
