Advantages: something for eveyone Disadvantages: pricey drinks in resorts
...Having spent many sun, sea sand etc holidays in Greek islands I ended up on the "clubbing capital" of Europe on a late package deal to Ibiza. The resort was Puerto San Miguel about 20km from both San Antonia and Ibiza town. The resort was peaceful and compact with limited choice of resteraunts and bars, having booked for two weeks we spent the first week unwinding on the beach and the hotel pool.
Having relaxed fully we ventured to the above mentioned towns in the second week, my advice avoid the shabby and dated Ibiza town and head for the nightlife of San Antonia - buses and taxis are cheap, well organized and Brit friendly!
This holiday showed that one island has two very different attitudes to holidaying so i recommended you try and find both in your stay....

Advantages: Good food at a good price Disadvantages: No view
...This is a lovely little restaurant in the old town of Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote (on the road that runs up the side of the Biosphera shopping centre). It is the sister restuarant to El Tomate but has a more casual and relaxed atmosphere as well as a menu suitable for more basic or plain palates (El Tomate is more meats in sauces whereas this is pizza and pasta focused). Both the pasta dishes and the pizzas are very appertising and the staff are helpful and freindly. I have been to the restaurant on a couple of seperate occasions and found the food to be of a high standard both times. It is also reasonably priced on both food and beverages. Well worth a visit on your holiday....

Advantages: Excellent island Disadvantages: No real beach
...Tenerife, situated in the Canary Islands, near Ibiza and in the Mediterranean. Paradise!
But Tenerife hardly displays the tacky, sex driven ambience of Ibiza. Some areas of Tenerife (Las Americas)are geered towards the British Tourist with pubs, clubs, strip joints and every restaurant serving ham and chips! I am not saying that this is bad. If you want to go on holiday and then end up at home again but with a sunburn then go to Las Americas. If you want to interact with the Spanish Culture, learn a bit about about the Spanish way of Life and maybe change your philosophy on Life then steer clear of Las Americas.
Tenerife is only a 3 hour flight from Luton and can cost from £38 depending which airline you take. Leaving the UK is the highlight of the flight until you reach Tenerife when you fly relatively low and can see...
