Advantages: beautiful, colourful, city scene, art galleries
Disadvantages: litter - railways

...Last year, i went to Madrid and thouhgt it was fantastic, Being the capital city of Spain it was sure to be buzzing with action and thats exactly what it was. My first impression of Madrid was "beatiful buildings"!! There are loads of tourist attractions in Madrid that include theme parks, museums and art galleries, palace's, and of course SHOPPING!! The eating out is great, i reccomend a briliant restaraunt called VIP! Its very stylish and very modern sort of spanish. I don't have a clue where its located. My favourite part of touristy Madrid had to be the art galleries which in my opinion specalise in abstract. If you're a fan of this, you sure to be dazzled by the wonderful collection available. The transport in Madrid is beyind excellent, its very sufficent and convienient as well as handy. It does get busy but by no means can... Read review

Advantages: No long stops or breakdowns
Disadvantages: Large areas of the city inaccessible by metro

...I visited Madrid in September and found that a two or three of the metro lines were closed for maintenance completely for a significant portion of the line. Apart from this the remainder of the trains worked fine. I did find that there was a lack of information - it was not clear at the outset of a journey that the lines were closed and the new airport link was open but this was difficult to tell and judging by the low number of tourists using the link few other people knew too. If you are going to Madrid don't assume that you will be able to travel freely without hitting problems and closures... Read review

...Madrid... I have lived in Madrid for 17 years almost and I never regret having done so. Madrid is an excellent city that offers a variety of tourism for any culture. It has a great selection of good restaurants and bars that come from national selections to international/oriental gourmet but its all superb. The nightlife in Madrid is wonderful, having loads of bars and discotheques (many of them are huge). The best thing for me is the "football life" as madrid has home to one of the most prestigious clubs in the world "Real Madrid". Madrid is a city with many things to see and do and it offers a diverse range of activities and attractions, from museums to amusement parks.
