I went to Alcudia for my honeymoon, which I wouldn't really recommend. We found there was a limited amount to do for couples, unless you like staying on a beach or shopping for your entire holiday.
The jouney from the airport to Alcudia usually takes 1/2 hour, but due to extensive road works our journey took an hour. I was quite disappointed with the scenery, it was very bland, yellow grass, a couple of trees, roadworks and the odd derilict house. The driver wasn't too careful with his driving either.
Once there we did find people very friendly and enjoyed the pubs. We were told by an english bar worker the ice cubes in bars are only ok, if the bar has a white fridge. All ice cubes/water from a white fridge is imported so is safe, he told us where ever we go look for a white fridge if the place doesn't have one don't touch ...

I visted majorca in 2005 in it was most definately one of the best family holidays that I have ever had.
First off i stayed in Hotel de Alcudia as an all inclusive restaurant. This hotel was very nice and very clean. It was very tall, with a bit of a dodgy lift, but on the bright side I got plenty of exercise on the stairs and there was a superb view over the beach. The meals in the restaurant were all buffet and there was always a great selection of food with plenty to appeal to the kids such as fish fingers and chips. They even supplied for meals a day with a supper at night supplying snack sort of foods, something which I thought was excellent. The entertainment in this hotel was what you would expect to find in a holiday resort but it did keep us entertained and there was one rather excellent hypnotist show. The only down side to ...

i went here a few years ago with my parents, brother and sister. the first thing i remember is that the canals in alcudia smell really bad at night! no reflection on the apartments, thats just alcudia!
the actual apartments were basic self catering, clean and nice maids. there are a quite a few pools and you can use any you like, so obviously the kids love that. not too far to walk to the beach, and you can also hire bikes and take them outside the complex. the staff were really friendly and helpful, and the lifts and that were clean and always working - very unusual!
alcuai itself is good for families, as its not too quiet but not like magaluf either! iwouldnt want to go now with my mates, but if i had kids i would take them there. ...
