Advantages: lovely weather, nice hotels, big pools, friendly staff
Disadvantages: a few coakroaches, but only a few... remember to take some bug spray..

the local area. One night we went into the next resort los gigantes. We ate at an Italian restaraunt, Little Italy. The food and drink were good and value for money but I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here as the waiters were quite rude and impatient as we hadn't made up our minds what we wanted to order straight away. Another night we ate out at a steak house in Puerto De Santiago which we would recommend to anybody. Very cheap and lovely presented, tasty food and lots of it! Unfortunately I cant remember the name! We also visited Pauls Bar & Carvery for a roast dinner on the sunday. He also does a huge full english which is well worth the 6 euros and will keep you full up till tea! Tamaimo Terrors

Advantages: Staff were friendly, activities were organised and rooms were clean
Disadvantages: Quiet area, very eerie

Tamaimo Tropical In June I was taken on a surprise honeymoon to Tenerife after being at a Haven Holiday for a week (but that's another story). We left from Gatwick airport flying through Direct Holidays. Everything went smoothly. My hubby had warned me that it was the cheapest one that he could find and told me that it was a 3* but he had not a clue what it was going to be like. We have ended up in a few dodgy places. We arrived at the South Airport in Tenerife at around 11pm. I felt great but we had 2 very tired and groggy toddlers with us (awww, I hear you sigh, you took your 2 children on your honeymoon, but we had my 17yr old niece, commonly referred to as "the babysitter" with us). Aparthotel Tamiamo Tropical Tenerfie

Advantages: clean,lovely pool/area,good bar, helpful room service and reception, gorgeous gardens
Disadvantages: current building work (may 2003) nearby, late dustbin collection service from dustmen

I first went to Tamaimo Tropical as a teenager with my parents in 1995, and enjoyed the whole experience as the pool was gorgeous and huge, with a heated section and a freshwater section and as a teenager you love all that. I returned again in 1997 with my parents to have an equally excellent time. My third trip to Tamaimo Tropical was in May 2003, I went with wmy boyfriend, younger brother (18 yrs) and his friend, we had a two bedroom apartment, and my mother and stepfather had a one bedroom apartment. As neither me nor my mother like to travel by coach and after a 4 hour flight you don't need to be stopping off at 6 different places before getting to your apartment so we hired cars from the UK before we left to pick up from the airport on arrival.
