Advantages: Great beachside location Disadvantages: Small walk to the resort centre
The Golden Donaire Park Hotel is a well run family hotel. It has a great beachside location and it is excellent for families and couples looing for a value-for-money holiday.
The hotel is 1.5km from shops, bars and restaurants of LaPineda. This only takes approx 8-10 mins to walk leisurely.
The hotel has a decent sized pool and also a separate children's pool. There are plenty of sunloungers for the sunworshippers.
Meals are taken in air-conditioned non-smoking restaurant which serves buffet hot/cold meals. There is plenty of food and a variety of choices. You can go up as often as you like to fill your plate. Highchairs are also available. There is also a snack bar open at lunchtime which is situated in the main bar and also by the pool.
There is evening entertainment most nights and daily happy hour in the bar ...
Advantages: Award Winning Beaches, plenty of attractions. Disadvantages: None that I have found.
, just a few hiccups especialy with roundabouts but we made it and headed off down the road to historic Tarragona and its port then on to LaPineda. One thing worth mentioning is that they have no road tax it is all done with toll gates the price of which was 2.80 Euro's, so have some change at the ready.
LaPineda is situated on the Costa Dorada not far from Salou but the distance makes all the difference, it was getting to the end of the season and so things were slowing down and it was not the hectic tourist resort I expected. The other thing was it was comical to see the locals all wrapped up in thier winter woolies while we wandered around in short sleeves, night time required a cardigan but no more for us.

~~Platja de laPineda~~
Platja de laPineda is a very small town located on the outskirts of Salou. It has a small amount of shops and stalls dotted around with a vast amount of golden sandy beach and a water park.
It's location is great being in a family friendly area that is close to Tarragona and Salou that are bigger resorts. Big family fun at Fortaventura can be had at about a 15-20 minute bus ride away and Barcelona is about 45 minutes to an hour away.
The airport that you normally fly into is Reus which is about a 20 minute coach journey away and while the airport is small it's quick to get through and very helpful e.g. they sort out car hire, transfers and even accommodation if required.
