We stayed here in July 2005 with our three kids (girls 11 and 8, baby 2 years) and had a great time. The room shown in the brochure is actually the one we had and is probably the best in the complex.
Rooms are huge and very high quality. We had a two bedroom apt and there were double sinks in each of the two bathrooms, which were all finished in marble and limestone. The upstairs master bedroom was huge and had a picture window with a beautiful, unrestricted view of the mountain at the rear. The apartment had a huge balcony at the front door, facing Cristianos, a huge balcony outside the master bedroom, a large balcony with furniture outside the living room and a tiny one outside the downstairs bedroom. Unfortunately it was all a bit too open plan for us to want to use the upstairs bedroom, which had no door, just an internal staircase! The lower bedroom was off the living room separated by sliding glass doors, which was a bit voyeuristic!
Most top floor
apartments had roof balconies, which might be lovely for secluded sunbathing or dangerous for kids depending on your circumstances. The complex has been designed as a sort of village, with moulded cobbles on the paths which wind around and follow the slopes of the land. Even the flowers, baskets and old fashioned lamposts give a nice feel to it all. It is built in a sort of three horshoe shape or I_I_I_I, so most photos don't give an impression of the size or the atmosphere.
Mandi was built as the VillaMagna to house people using the golf course which it overlooks. The whole place is decorated with big capital letter "M"s, so they were restricted in how they renamed it! The whole thing was plonked about a mile away from the nearest civilization (Cristianos). Development is now underway to close up the 800 yard gap between Mandi and the north of Cristianos. When we were there all the roads were laid and the sites were nearly cleared, so sometime soon it is going to be one big building site.
The location means that it is quiet at night but the town and shops are a long walk away (beach even longer!) One guest said that he liked being away from the main resort as it could get rough at night, which I agreed with. There is a free bus to the beach at ten am every day and taxis are plentiful and reasonable. We hired a car from the Europcar related company the reps arranged but their first offering was so old and dirty I got it changed for a decent modern car. Couldn't find any local rental places in Cristianos at first but then saw one hidden away in a basement garage in the first street I had looked! Plenty of car rentls in Americas.
Pools at Mandi are great -two good sized deep pools, one toddler pool and a very shallow baby pool. All seemed clean and well kept. Mandi was upgraded to a Thomson "Superfamily" around Christmas 2004, so there are new play parks, kids clubs and evening entertainment. However, compared to the Superfamily place we visited in Majorca, and from other guests comments, it is not really up to the standard of their other Superfamily resorts, some of which have tennis and football etc but are much bigger overall. Evening entertainment is pretty boring and kids' disco is the usual poor quality stuff which drives me mad but the kids like it!. It is held indoors, which at least means that the noise doesn't go round the complex.
Reps and staff were all very cheerful and friendly. Cleaners prompt and efficient. Put everything into the room safe, even when you are asleep. There was a break in while we were there and the police a) couldn't give a toss, and b) treated the guests like criminals -"Why did you have £500 in your room? That is a lot of money" The thieves got into one room and then vaulted across the balconies. None of the balcony doors are secure (striker bolts missing) and the swipe cards system for the front doors is never refreshed. This means that my old card would still work in room 305 if I had kept it or copied it!
But be realistic and assume that your rooms are open to anyone, even when you are in bed. The guy who left all his holiday money, credit cards and his wife's jewellery in his room for four hours while he went to the pool was a bit silly really. The safes cost ten quid a week.
Worst thing about Mandi was the restaurant -the worst in Tenerife I reckon. Sad, given the captive nature of the guests. We found that even the smallest restaurant in town was better quality. We ate at one lovely place which was in a sort of wooden shed, with a kitchen smaller than mine at home and the food and service were beautiful.
There was building going on across the golf course which could be a little noisy but not bad. The windows are all double glazed in the apartments. Oh we did get woken at 5:30 one morning by the pratt greenkeepers on the golf course racing their buggies and leaving them with headlights on and engines running outside our window, but it was only once. So the biggest thing to watch out for is the development of the acres of prepared ground around the front of the complex.

I was there last year. I have two girls age 15, one boy 14 and another 13. All had a wonderful time but the review sums the place up brilliantly.
I would go back, lovely apartments and very clean. The annoyance for us was the distance to travel to a local supermarket. Funny enough, there was also a break in when we were there!
