We were given a city map with our location circled (this proved a godsend the next evening when we tried to find our way home after too many Estrellas) and we enquired as to where we might get some food that night. There was no staff member around when it came to checking out, we merely left the keys on the sideboard in the hallway. If you have been in one of these old Barcelona apartment buildings with the grand entrances and wrought iron balconies you will know what to expect: high ceilings, ornately tiled floors, long narrow apartments with a hallway along one side and all the rooms leading off it. Good Hotel to Stay in City Center but...

Advantages: Close to City Center, Budget Hotel, Free Breakfast
Disadvantages: No free internet, Not much Value for Money, Uncleanliness with some services

I booked this hotel for my stay in Leeds as I wanted to stay in the city center. I have been staying in various hotels, so I had some expectations from this one as well. When you want to choose any hotel, you have few criteria in mind. I would like to write on the criteria I had in my mind, so you can take this review as per your need. Quality of hotel service: It was satisfactory, not exceptional but not bad too. Condition or maintenance of the hotel: When I entered the hallway, I sensed a weird smell (like the one when the area is closed for long time), the breakfast sitting area was clean BUT, the cutlery was not clean. I had to wipe the spoons and forks I used. They clearly were not cleaned properly. Cleanliness of room: but the rooms were maintained alright. The bathrooms were clean, but you don't get to see posh bathrooms ...

Top Attractions in Barcelona; General Tourist Information

Advantages: *Great transport *Attractions for everyone, any age, any interest *City and beach
Disadvantages: *Food prices/quality in the centre *Very busy in peak seasons

General Information The city of Barcelona stands in the heart of the Catalonia region in the east of Spain. Being the 2nd largest Spanish city, it boasts both the fast-paced city atmosphere yet also an open coastline with sandy beaches. Hotels can be found all across the city to suit everyone's tastes and ideal locations - may I recommend the Hotel Balmes on Calle Mallorca as a very good value 3 star hotel in a great location for the average tourist like me (see my review for this hotel should the mood take you). Transport The transport system seems very well run as there is an underground train network running to all the main attractions and back to the city centre on a very regular basis and at a very good price - we bought a 10 journey ticket which made each single journey just 77cents...such a good price when you think ...
