Advantages: Ferry available to Greece Disadvantages: Too many Tourists
...I was sorry to read the one review you have on Messonghi VillageCorfu. I went there way back in 1986 with a friend and had a very good time, although I wasn't very keen on the place we stayed in.
We stayed in an apartment block and had a bedroom with en-suite, which consisted of just a shower, sink and toilet.
The room was basic, containing the usual, a double bed, side cabinets, wardrobe, dressing table and a kitchen bar which consisted of just a kettle, cups and saucers and a couple of glasses (oh, not forgetting a couple of plates and cutlery, of course). There was no fridge.
We used to get our breakfast each morning. It was left hanging outside on the door handle. A bag, containing a few bread rolls, butter, sugar, tea bags, milk and a couple of sachets of coffee.
That wasn't too bad though, as Messonghi Village is full...

...Coral Hotel, Roda Corfu
INTRO
Not knowing where to go for hols this year we decided to convert our Tesco vouchers and go for a free holiday. The one place that always seemed to come up was the Corel Hotel in Corfu.
All the pictures and info on the net pointed to a good family run hotel in a nice area of Corfu.
LOCATION
The hotel is situated on the outskirts of RODA which itself is about an hour and a half from Corfu Town and the airport.
The hotel itself is literally a small stones throw from the beach. Alas that's a pebble beach but its still right on the sea. When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised at the location. There's about a 10 mile stretch of water between Corfu and the mountains of Albania. Stick all of this together and you have nothing short of a fantastic location.
THE HOTEL
The hotel is divided up...

Advantages: wonderful hotel Disadvantages: drinks cheaper at pubs over the road.
...My husband and I went to this 4* thomson platinum hotel last October for our anniversary and we loved it.
There are 2 sister hotels next door to each other and have wonderful panoramic views from the restaurants, you can use the facilities of both hotels but I would say The Dassia Chandris caters more for the children.
We stayed in the Corfu Chandris it also as apartments and bungalows set in well manicured grounds, the other hotel is the Dassia Chandris both set on the beach and views are beautiful!!
The weather was glorious apart from one day rain.
Bedrooms were large and airy with lovely 6ft size bed,tv,lounge area, mini-fridge(though drinks were expensive from here and the bar).
Plus point was the safe was free.
Bathroom wasn't that big but had all the usual, shower over the bath, vainty unit, tiolet and all...

The Palace Hotel in Buxton, Derbyshire, is an amazing hotel. It is an RAC 4* accredited hotel and my partner and I went on a 2 night leisure break there for Easter. We chose this particular hotel because it has a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym and more
When Lee Mead won BBC's 'Any Dream Will Do' my mum was ecstatic. She had probably spent half her wages voting for him, so tickets to see him play Joseph were an obvious choice for her birthday in November last year. Thinking it was a brilliant idea,... more
