We stayed here for a long weekend about a year ago. I knew we made the right decision when we arrived before check in and the hotel made the room available immediately! We found the staff so helpful and friendly and their english was excellent. We did not have a clue as to where to start from or where to eat and they were so helpful in recommending places to go and a map was given to us too!
It is a very small hotel but it is nicely decorated ( it could seem OTT at first but it fits in well with Venice's history and culture) and the rooms were perfect ( Beds very comfy). We had a juliette balcony overlooking the street , must say the view wasn't exactly picturesque but it felt like being part of the real residential Venice. We had a minibar which was very well stocked and prices reasonable. The bathroom was basic but very clean. We could also regulate the room temperature which was handy as it must have been the coldest january weekend ever!
What I liked about it was that it was tucked away from the the main streets and you would not necessarily know it was there so it was very quiet and peaceful and it did not cater for mass tourist influx! Just round the corner from the hotel we had a coffee shop, mini supermarket, restaurant and at just 10 minutes away the main shopping area.
Even though it did not seem like it when we arrived it is very near to everything which made it easy to pop back and drop the bags of shopping off! I suppose that by not having a hotel in the central locations we actually had the opportunitiy to see other areas which you might not even realise were there and get a real feel of the place. I found a few shops tucked away which would have been a real shame not to have seen especially as their prices were not as exaggerated as in the more frequented areas.
By the way.... they serve excellent coffee!
It was actually nice to stay in gymless hotel...but then again it is a b&b!
I would definitely stay again! Perfect for a romantic getaway.
(I don't know how it would cater for families with young children I seem to remember that they do supply a cot)
