Disadvantages: hmmm, have to think about that one.

...I have recently booked a ticket through Apple Air LTD. (www.applegrp.com) Their office is located in a small building in Hammersmith and I was served by some very friendly faces. I think they deal mostly in flights to Sri Lanka but I think they have services worldwide. I haven't had any trouble with them, and I have been booking with them for a long time. They deal in flights to destinations worldwide, crusises etc. all the works and also, they offer Wedding Organising aboard. They also offer FREE transfer from the Colombo International Airport to the Lanka Oberoi Hotel, Colombo as they have a cab service in London and Colombo (applecars). It helps a lot, especially if you travel to Sri Lanka a lot. ...The Apple Inn is a great little eating house on the High Street in Troon. The Apple Inn is part of the Costley and Costley Hotel chain, which also includes the Lochgreen Hotel in Troon, the famous Brig-a-Doon Hotel in Ayr, Highgrove House in Dundonald and Cochrane Inn in Gatehead, and the one in Maidens, near Turnberry, whose name escapes me (*Does search on internet* that’s it - Wildings). And I can tell you I have eaten in all of them without any disappointment. The Apple Inn is one of the smaller establishments in the Costley and Costley Empire. It is a relatively recent acquisition. On entering the inn, you will find the bar straight facing you. Advantages: Cheap and right on Times Square
Disadvantages: A bit on the shabby side

...Hotel Carter is often referred to as a hostel but I wouldn't go that far. Although it's not exactly New York luxury the room was en-suite and was clean and a good size, if a little dated (the carpet on the wall is somewhat different!). The Hotel didn't have a restaurant but there are plenty of places to eat nearby. If you are just after a cheap weekend in the Big Apple you can't get a much more central location than this Hotel which is just off Times Square and for the money compared to other NY hotels I think it is great value. Especially since you'll probably spend very little time in hotel room with the rest of New York to explore!... Read review
