My girlfriend booked our 2 night stay at the Arlington. We stayed there at the beginning of Feb 2003. I must say I was a bit irked when I saw the brochure and read that it was medieval themed with authentic Irish dancing etc. From the description I thought that it was going to be like some awful themed place for American tourists.

Luckily that was not the case.
We had a double room for 2 nights (Saturday and Sunday) and this came to 190 Euros including breakfast.

The best thing about the Arlington is the location - it is right on the bank of the Liffey just off O' Connell street so it could not be more central.

The room was clean enough, double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, no air conditioning.
Own bathroom and toilet, I noticed right away that there was no pressure in the shower which merely dribbled pathetically, went down to the desk and told them and they had it fixed within 20 minutes.

The Arlington has a huge bar / entertainment area which has live music, Irish dancing etc. This was all pretty good. It really is a party place which fills up with hundreds of people drinking and dancing (not just hotel guests) until the early hours.

So if you are looking for somewhere quiet - this really is not the place.

The breakfast was excellent - cereal / toast / fry / fruit / yoghurt - unlimited and of good quality - abundance.

We received nothing but the best service during our stay there. I even had to ring up the day after we left as I had left my phone charger in the room - which they promptly and courteously mailed to me back in England.

Excellent place to stay if you like to drink / dance / have a laugh and don't mind others around you doing so....
