Lobby This is inviting, with large red sofas and an oak panelled bar, leading to a small reception desk. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful a most welcoming start.
The room This was amazing, we had booked a triple room so I expected three beds in an ordinary room……………..No we got a suite!!! Yeah. ‘Grumpy’s’ bed was in the living area, containing a sofa, TV, sideboard, minibar (not too sure that was a good idea) and its own air-conditioning. Our room was the other side of sliding double doors and was equally large with a whole wall full of fitted wardrobes and a TV. Rooms also contain internet access and direct dial telephones. There was a minus side to the sliding doors as ’grumpy’ managed to break them within 30 seconds, but this was not the hotels fault. Over all it was a fabulous room with an amazing amount of space.
View Backs of the other hotels, but to be honest this was not important as we spent very little time in the room and as this end of the city is very busy, we never had the windows open. Ps the windows are double glazed.
Bathroom It just gets better and better. A huge bathroom with 2 sinks, the usual toilet and bidet (or foot washer in the ‘grumps’ case), all the toiletries you could wish for, including sponges and ….. wait for it ….. a spa bath! Oh pure luxury.
Dining Room View of outdoor pool area, beautifully clean and set with crisp white table clothes and napkins. Breakfast consisted of an excellent hot and cold buffet including fresh strawberries and pineapple. Coffee was served hot and strong which went really well with the wonderful table of cakes, which I couldn’t resist.
Bar Well stocked and extremely good prices. As was the mini-bar.
Indoor Spa Long thin swimming pool with water jets and fountains, a large sauna, Turkish steam room (I lasted about 20 seconds in here!) Jacuzzi (more my scene) and an odd type of Jacuzzi in which you lie flat! Seats all around and one or two sun beds. Beautifully decorated and a very restful place to spend an hour after shopping. There is also a small gym next door and a massage room (I decided to give these a miss!)
Outdoor Pool Area We didn’t swim there, but the pool was very clean. The surrounding area is a mix of decking and tiles with pots of exotic plants dotted about. There were plenty of sun beds, tables and chairs.
The hotel also boasts convention rooms and a small internet room.
Access There were two large lifts and ramp access all around.
Staff All very warm and friendly. The receptionist was very helpful, calling taxis and advising where to visit. Waiters couldn’t do enough at breakfast and were happy to bring ever lasting pots of coffee or tea. Chambermaids worked very hard as the room always gleamed when we got back.
Local Attractions include the wonderful cathedral, well worth queuing to see. Arab baths, small and tranquil, but only 1.50 Euro entry and the marina itself, just looking at those huge cruise ships and Sun seeker Yachts is enough to exhaust anyone, but luckily there are bars and coffee shops everywhere.
We booked through Octopus Travel, paying £318.75 in total for three night’s bed and breakfast from the 4th May. Warning, I also checked out other sites and Ryanair were charging over £700 for the same deal.
Overall I could not fault this hotel. It is a little gem in the heart of a big city, no it hasn’t got the views of the marina but it has got great facilities and superb staff. Would I recommend it? Oh yes, without a doubt.
Advantages: Well presented, friendly, welcoming, modern Disadvantages: On a back street
We visted the Hotel Armadams for our honeymoon back in October 2006 for a short break to take in the sights and sounds of Palma. It is situated one "block" away from the main promenade in Palma, a road lined on one side with bars, hotels, shops and the marina and harbour area on the other. I am not a great Spanish speaker, infact I know only the most basic of phrases to muddle through, but the staff were very understanding and very helpful, even ... ...delayed flight. The room was exceptional. Clean crisp tiled floors beautufully airy which really made a good first impression.
We had a view looking out at the flats opposite, but a sneaky view between the buildings to the goregous marina opposite. Features of the room were also impressive, with a mini bar, television with variety of channels, telephone, temperature control which was handy at all times of the day hot or cold.
The bed was a large ...
