Advantages Well presented, friendly, welcoming, modern
Disadvantages On a back street
We visted the Hotel Armadams for our honeymoon back in October 2006 for a short break to take in the sights and sounds of Palma.
It is situated one "block" away from the main promenade in Palma, a road lined on one side with bars, hotels, shops and the marina and harbour area on the other.I am not a great Spanish speaker, infact I know only the most basic of phrases to muddle through, but the staff were very understanding and very helpful, even though we weren't checking in until really late following a delayed flight.
The room was exceptional. Clean crisp tiled floors beautufully airy which really made a good first impression.Features of the room were also impressive, with a mini bar, television with variety of channels, telephone, temperature control which was handy at all times of the day hot or cold.
The bed was a large size, and the room also contained 2 comfortable chairs and a reasonably sized table. The bathroom had dual sinks and a very large mirror, a bidet and the toilet. The bath wasn't particularly deep, but it did have the power jets creating the spa bath effect..... which was pretty relaxing after a long day of walking. In general, the hotel was a very nice place to be. We were just a flight of stairs away from the facilities in the basement - Sauna, wave pool, spa bath, pool and the gym with weights and dumbells etc..... though we didn't venture into that.
Breakfast was very well presented and palatable, with choices of hot food, cold meats toast, preserves and plenty of continental choices, including a seemingly endless supply of tea or coffee. AND it was served at reasonable times (handy when we didn't get to bed until late). We also sampled the bar area, which always had someone there, and the rather bizzare feature of portholes looking into the outdoor swimming pool - so make sure you don't loose your trunks!
The room service menu had varied choice of snacks, hot and cold sandwiches and we sampled the omlettes after speaking to an English member of the kitchen staff, and the prompt arrival of our food piping hot.It was a shame we weren't at the hotel longer, as I could imagine starting every day with a refreshing swim a hearty breakfast, lounging by the outdoor pool in the sun before grabbing some room service and heading out in the knowledge you'll return to a cosy comfortable setting.
