's getting better, more people do make an effort, but it is still a hope rather than a reality!
Of all the hotels in Yerevan, the HotelYerevan is not my favourite, but it is the best hotel of its size and location. I've stayed there five or six times over the past couple of years.
The HotelYerevan was completely rennovated and reopened in 2000 (give or take a few months). The rennovation was done by the Italian company Renco, who now run the hotel. A hotel run by Italian builders sounds like a recipe for diaster, but it's not! The rennovation has been done quite well and other than the reception area, which is a little small, it does feel light, airy and has a Mediterranean feel to it.
RECEPTION
Most of the people at reception are cheerful and friendly. Check in is quite quick, but check out can be slow. Note than names ...
Advantages: Comfortable, convenient for city sight seeing Disadvantages: luke warm bath water and average food in restaurant

A BIT OF SCENE SETTING:
This hotel is part of the Marriott chain but is an old hotel which was once the home of Elizabeth Bowes an ancestor of the Queen Mother. Apparently it was often visited when it was privately owned by Edward VII when he was up in Durham. It has had quite a large series of extensions and now boasts 150 bedrooms, some of which are suites and family rooms all and have en suite bathrooms ( As you might expect in a hotel I would have thought). This is a four star hotel right in the centre of Durham so perfect for a city break as you can park your car in the hotel (complimentary) car park and walk round the city which is very compact and just a hop over the road from the hotel.

We stayed at this MarriottHotel in Peterborough for the night about a month ago now because we had been invited to a friends wedding there at the hotel.
This hotel has 162 rooms and it is a 3 star hotel.
The location is really tranquil and the hotel is surrounded by really nice pretty gardens and large green fields.
We paid £90 for a double room and we got a discount for being guests at the wedding, i think breakfast is at a small extra cost but im not 100% sure so you would need to chack this.
Its set within 11 acres or so of grounds adjacent to Peterborough's Main Business Park, we found this hotel really easy to find and very well signposted.
We found the staff to be really friendly but extremely professional and helpful at all times.
We got checked in really quickly and within 5 minuites we were in our room ...
