Stayed at Hotel Prategiano in July 2004 and revisited again in 2007! A charming quiet hotel set in the hills of tuscany, just 1km from the quaint village of montieri. It is in easy reach of Sienna, Florence and the Island of Elba to name but a few areas of interest. The hotel offers a wide variety of activities such as horse riding, biking, walking and boasts it's own secluded pool in which you can swim and relax at the end of the day. In addition the hotel can offer tailor made packages for pastimes such as wine tasting, quad biking and wildlife viewing.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and the horse riding guides have experience of both the local trails and areas of interest. They offer a very flexible riding programme, mornings or all day trails with a relaxing two hour picnic by the river...

Advantages: ideal place to stay in Italy Disadvantages: car required
...A hot tip for all travellers to Italy's Tuscany region. We spent one week of our summer vacation this year in Tuscany / Italy, in the small village of Colleoli.
After checking the Internet site in early June, we were lucky that there was still an apartment available for the first week in August (which is the high season).
