Whilst on a day trip to Scarborough, my boyfriend and i decided to travel by train. we chose to get the ten to four train from a near by platform.
The train journey to Scarborough was pleasant and ontime. The staff were friendly.
The journey home was quite different. The train was over an hour and a half late. There was supposed to be a train every hour. After an hour and ten minutes we were told a train would be cxomin in ten minutes and we were asked to wait at a different platform. Five minutes later a taxi driver came onto the platform telling us all we should get into the taxis as there would be no trains. However we had been told a train would soon come. So we told the taxi driver we would wait for the train. At this point the taxi driver became irritated and started shouting at us all that there\were NO trains. So I rang arriva who said another company now ran the train line-Transpenine Express-ran by arriva?. The woman told me there were many problems with the service and it was to do with the other train company. The taxi driver was still shouting at this point when a train finally came. There was no communication from any staff over than the staion master who hd no idea what was happening, neither did the customer advisors on the help line. When on the train no-one was charged for the journey. However my boyfriend and myself had paid for returns and thought it was unfair that we had in efffect paid our way home.

I agree with this because the same thing happened to me when the transpenninexpress I was became o non stop service to manchester airport not stopping at gatley, it is true that arriva do not run this service anymore and First group do so that is probrably what the woman was talking about.
