Well what can I say we arrived back this morning from our 2 week honeymoon at the arsinoe beach hotel, and I can tell you all we won't be going back?
The location of the hotel to the town of limassol was very disappointing it is too far to walk in the midday heat and if you wanted to go the old town on foot then it would take you about half an hour to an hour to get there. There is good news though there is a bus that runs along the sea front and it costs £0.80cyp for which you can get on and off where ever you want - bargain
There are two pools at the back of the hotel one for children and the other for adults. Two minutes across the road there is the beach. There is also a night club downstairs which we never saw anyone go in there but we heard the music till 2am in the morning.
The bedroom is a bit basic bathroom, beds and a TV and radio where you can listen to the British forces radio station. We had a balcony view out towards the sea in the hotel information booklet in the rooms it says that no electrical devices can be used as it is a fire risk so there was no tea and coffee.
The safe and fridge you can hire from the hotel £10cp for the fridge and it is the size of a normal fridge not a little small one that you see in some hotels.
The hotel itself was good, clean rooms and very friendly bar staff but for the rest of the experience, it spoilt what should have been our most memorable of holidays.
The hotel Facilities are a spa, hairdresser's internet access and two pools.
The food was what made our honeymoon hell, poor it not the word for it, I would think pigs would even turn up there noses at it, I will give you an example, it was last Saturday night and we arrived for our evening meal at 8pm, this is mid service as the evening meal is done between 7pm and 9pm, we sat down and the wine waiter took our drinks order then we got up to get our soup, we were eating with another couple who we had met in the hotel. We sat down to start our soup to find it was stone cold, we though maybe the soup tureen was not working so we went and got more soup out of another tureen to find this to was stone cold, we called the waiter over who said he would go and reheat it, to which we refused it was only mid service and this food should still have been piping hot.
So we all decided to go and get the main course, when we got there was only 1 portion of beef stew left, so it left myself and my husband and our friend stood waiting for more to arrive, we could not even get any salad to be going on with as it had all gone, when they finally brought out the stew, to my shock and horror it was not even cooked, the meat was still in clearly visible squares to how it had been cut and it still had large amounts of fat on the meat, and as we all know in a stew this melts away, I then complained again by this time one of our friends decided to leave to which we all followed. We ended up going to eat at Rebecca's which I have to say was one of the nices meal we had and very cheap to.
The next day we went to see if we could get a refund on the meal we had at Rebecca's only to be told that nobody else complained about the food and it was just us, well I did not have an answer to that, alls I can say if you are going to Cyprus stay clear of this hotel unless u do bed and breakfast like I said the hotel itself was very nice the food really really let it down. We did here they have sacked there long standing chef, I'm sure this could have something to do with it. For great food visit China town in the tourist area of limassol George who owns the place and spent a lot of money on the place and four about £30cyp you can have a nice 4 course meal with drinks. Go out at about *.30pm for a great night out.
