The hotel is situated in one of the most scenic spots of the Mecsek Mountains, right above the downtown of Pecs. The hotel offers a unique, spectacular view over the town and the neighboring hills.
Advantages: Centrally placed with reasonable room rates. Nice staff. Well furnished Disadvantages: Area never totally quiet - get a room at the back. No immediately obvious disabled facilities
...heating than aircon!
The bathroom contained good and bad news. Yes, it was nicely decorated with expensive fittings, including a captive hairdryer, full-sized bath and shower. Toiletries were of a high quality too. Unfortunately, whoever screwed the shower fitments to the wall must have been vertically-challenged since neither of us could stoop low enough to get our hair wet. Having already vented our collective spleens on the lack of clothes peg, the only other oddity was the fact that being quite long-legged I had to sit sideways when, ahem, enthroned as my knees wouldn't fit between the toilet seat and the tiled riser that stuck out from the wall. A little more attention to ergonomics wouldn't have gone amiss guys - after all you invented the bloody word.
The ArtHotel only really has two tariffs; a room rate with or without breakfast...

...If you want a once-in-a-lifetime experience, stay at the ArtsHotel, Barcelona, preferably over Christmas. This new hotel, the tallest building in Spain, has terrific views either over the city or the Med (the latter rooms slightly more expensive) from elegant, tastefully furnished rooms and service which is second to none. One has to get used to the rather odd hours kept by people from this city, who go out to dinner at midnight, and sleep through the afternoon. We had an invitation from the hotel to free drinks and bites to eat to be held at 4 a.m. When I rang reception to ask if this meant 4 p.m. I was told “No, 4 a.m.”! The lobby area and dining rooms are very elegant –afternoon tea in one of them is a real experience. Just a word of warning – America-haters stay away, as many of the staff are trained in the U.S.A. as belied by...

Advantages: Good location, excellent food and friendly staff Disadvantages: pool closed due to maintenance
..., and you can walk to the Medina 25-40 minutes along the beach. The beach is well looked after in front of the hotel no rubbish or seaweed, but further away there are signs of rubbish.
Indoor pool
*************
Indoor pool is a good size about 45ft-35ft and open from 7am-7pm. Room temperture is about 30degrees but the water is a bit nippy. 30 odd sunloungers surround the pool and there are 2 toilets with showers in.
This time of year it is fairly busy in here, if your after a quiet swim its best to go in early or after 5pm when people start to get ready for dinner.
Gym
******
Free weights, 2 bikes, pec deck, treadmill and various other machines are lined in front of a full length mirror in 2 rooms, these rooms will give you a serious work out if you want to. All equipment is in good working order and like the rest of the hotel...

For some reason, I booked a week's holiday to Brussels. On my own. It should be stated straight away that I didn't have a great holiday, but I'll try not to let that influence my views of the hotel itself.
