Artists´ Open Studios - Oct

Advantages: lots to do, great events, huge variety
Disadvantages: not a lot for non-artists

...Patchings was started in 1988 by brother and sister Charles and Elizabeth Wood (Chas and Liz). Both of them were already artists and saw the potential in opening an art centre, so they purchased some derelict farm buildings and restored them. These buildings are now a restaurant, gallery, shop, framing centre and pottery studio. Over the years, they've bought more land as it became available, building or restoring other buildings so the centre now includes extensive grounds, large pavilion, a log cabin classroom, studios for resident artists and a bed and breakfast. Patchings hosts various concerts and events through the year, including a Christmas market and a teddy bear fair. Advantages: Fun, less busy than other disney parks.
Disadvantages: Poor food at Pizza Planet

...Getting to the Studios is fairly easy. Motorists can reach Disney-MGM Studios via World Drive, often called "the main entrance" which is off of US192. It can also be reached via Epcot Drive off of I-4. The best method of transport is the Free disney resort bus's which can be picked up from your Any Disney world hotel, Downtown disney or the transport station. -----------THE PARK---------- Disney MGM Studios is my families 2nd Favourite Disneyworld Park. This park is not as large as the others but if you love movies its not to be missed. The park is about bringing the movies, TV, music, to life. Disney MGM studios is not just a themepark but is also a working studios. Approx two thirds is a closed off to the public but don't let this put you off there is still plenty of space for us. Advantages: you can do it in a day
Disadvantages: expensive theme park food and drink

...First of all only buy passes if u intend to go to Seaworld otherwise it is just not worth it. Staying in a hotel there are plenty of money off flyers to be had. With the subway linking Universal Studios with Downtown Los Angeles this should help those who want to avoid being ripped off by the tours. Universal Studios opens at 9am. The maps are quite simple to understand. As soon as you head towards the rides you will be asked for your picture to be taken and of course will have to pay the obligatory dollars for it later.We found that the Jurassic Park ride did not open until 10 am so we headed for Back to the Future first. Do not look right when you are in the Back To The Future vehicle as you will see the other vehicles as this will ruin the whole effect.By the time we completed that and walked down it was 10am...
