One of the recent entrants is the US company,Days Inn,and although a relative "new kid on the block",they are already making waves.Although not the cheapest they do offer quite high quality accommodation for your money. Most of the Days Inn hotels are located near to the main Motorway network which make them locationally convenient for taking a city break or visiting a theme park. Advantages: Sites are normally near to a pub
Disadvantages: Do Not Widely Publicise Their Discount Card

...I have used several budget hotel chains such as Travel Inn, Travel Lodge, Wether Lodge (JD Wetherspoons, Holiday Inn Express and prefer the Travel Inn chain, most of their hotels are situated near to a pub so you are able to get a drink and food easily. These chains all offer the same standard rooms at roughly the same price around £40. Tip: Holiday Inn Express normally offer a buffet breakfast Toast Rolls, ceral Etc. In addition most chains offer regular discounts Travelodge have a web site where rooms start at £20.00 - I would recommend a visit to the site prior to booking. The Travel Inn chain have a web site but I have never seen any discounts however, discounts are available using a discount card you can apply for in Whitbred pubs - It is basically for familys (But you can say you have a couple of kids) and you will receive a 20...
