Ascot Hotel, Copenhagen

Advantages: everything.
Disadvantages: eating out isn't cheap

...I first travelled to Copenhagen in June of 2001. I think I have been Back 20 times since. It is 1 hour and 40 minutes from manchester, 1 hour 50 minutes from Birmingham. Flights are regular, 4 times a day minimum. The Airport at copenhagen is very good, with facilities for everything. Just watch out for the scooters and the golf buggies. A 20 minute bus ride (250 S) takes you to the centre of copenhagen (station, radhusplasen (sp is wrong i think) and Tivoli. Hotels can be booked on the the net. Crime is very low, I think that it is officially the safest city in Europe.. beer is expensive. the people are very friendly and more than 80% speak english. ...We travelled to Copenhagen on 24/10/00 from Heathrow Terminal 1. The flight took 90 minutes. We took a taxi outside the Arrival hall to the Komfort Hotel, which is located about 5-min walk from the City Hall Square. Unfortunately the theme park Tivoli Gardens was closed at this time of year. We visited 3 museums: Ripley’s Believe it or not, Louis Tussauds Wax museum and the Guinness Book of World Records museum. Ripley’s was full of oddities such as 8-legged goats, 2 headed cows, 4 headed kitten etc. The wax museum was full of celebrities such as Pierce Brosnan, Michael Jackson, Bill Clinton, Danish Royal Family etc. All the museums were enjoyable. We also took a grand tour of Copenhagen via coach lasting 2hrs 30 min. This took in the Little Mermaid statue, Danish navy barracks, and Royal Palace and was very informative... Read review

...We stayed in this hotel in May 2007. The overall experience was fantastic. The building, the room, the staffs and the service, everything was superb, as expected from the brand name. The hotel is adjacent to the main airport and connected to the airport. You do not need to step outside the airport to get into the hotel. Just follow the directions from the main arrival terminal and walk into the main lobby. It is a big multi storied building. The main lobby, breakfast area, lifts and corridors are or paneled with Scandinavian wood work. From one side, you can get a fantastic view of the bridge connecting Copenhagen to Sweden. We booked a double room and it was marvelous. The room was specious and well decorated in contemporary style.
