We both went to Sussex Uni and quite enjoy going back there for the odd 'not-so-dirty' weekend. We found this hotel sveral years ago but it was made over a couple of years back. It is fairly close to Palace Pier and is very close to the seafront. However the main shops are probably a 10 minute walk away.
It is easy to get there by public transport so you don't need to take a car - anyway it would be murder to park it! You can walk around most of ... ...car isn't really essential.
One of the strange/best things about it is the varied clientele: whilst we were there before Christmas there were a couple of New Zealanders, some cyclists from up North and some serious bikers from Belgium (no, not Hell's Angels types!!They they were really charming).
You get to chat to other guests as the dining room is intimate to say the least!
