Asda cafe is not my choice of cafe to eat. Though if I have no alternative I will eat here, as sometimes it is convenient when you are doing your shopping there. However you will find that the hot food is almost always dry. Standing in the queue trying to decide what to have I take a look at the jacket potatoes they look nice enough, but when I bite into them they tell a different story.
The potato’s are a bit hard and over cooked. ... ...you won't find this at Asda Cafe. Well not the one in Blackpool anyway. Of all the times I’ve been there I cannot say I have ever been completely satisfied with the quality of food. I know my mother does not like the food there either.

Asda cafe is not my choice of cafe to eat. Though if I have no alternative I will eat here, as sometimes it is convenient when you are doing your shopping there. The potato’s are a bit hard and over cooked. The skin is dark brown with burnt bits. I don’t mind burnt skin on my potato, but I know there are other’s who just don’t like anything burnt and besides your paying your money so it shouldn’t be burnt. The thing is you feel the price is so low that you cannot complain. Well that’s what I’m like anyway. I hate complaining and making a fuss so I just keep quiet. The other alternative lasagne is burned at the edges and the layering is hard and crispy. Well I suppose you expect this for the money you are paying which is very cheap for a cafe meal. Nevertheless you do expect a certain quality. No you won't find this at Asda Cafe. Well not the one in Blackpool anyway. Of all the times I’ve been there I cannot say I have ever been completely satisfied with the quality of food. I know my mother does not like the food there either.
I think I have tried almost everything in the cafe and the only nice food I have found is the sandwiches and drinks. Sometimes the jacket potatoes are not too bad especially if you have something in them and they do my favourite filling. Some people I know will scrunch their faces up at this, but my favourite filling for jacket potatoes is cottage cheese and baked beans. Delicious!
I've even had Christmas lunch at Asda and it failed to impress me. I like value for money, but what about quality too? I mean when you eat somewhere you expect it to offer you something of quality even if it is cheap. I would compare the meals at the café to kind of meals you had at School.
I much prefer to pay more and get something I can completely enjoy. Whilst Asda gives a large selection of different foods and drinks it doesn't deliver quality. The chips are brown and if not that then soggy. So I guess really the Asda Café is good if you’re going in to rest your feet or if you’re so hungry you cannot wait to get your shopping home. It’s also very good if you just fancy a coffee or some other refreshment. One thing I will say is the service is quick and friendly.
The food is often left out too long and the people who serve it just plonk it on your plate. You are served with a smile though. Perhaps they know you need a smile looking upon your plate of dried food. No really the staff are great and do try to help wherever they can. It’s just that the food gets left out too long and it seems like it is churned out. I suppose they have to work to a timescale because of how cheap the food is.
You can expect to pay about Ł5.40 for a meal for 2. Hey you even get a dessert for that.
Everything, which is packaged, is nice. It has been kept in the fridge. The other food is kept under a hot light and soon dries out. I suppose if you were the first to be served you would get something nice. If you happen to go in towards the end of the day then you just get what's left and still have to pay full price. Though like I said that's cheap compared to other cafes. So what do you choose? Price or quality? For me Asda Café has turned out to be more of a convenience, but not somewhere I would choose to eat.
You can get a nice warm pot of tea or coffee. Even soft drinks and hot chocolate. A drink comes as a nice welcome when you have been shopping for a long time and just want a rest while you prepare for the task of unloading your shopping when you get home.
If you want something hot from the cafe it is best to choose soup or a jacket potato they are your best bet. If going for something cold choose a sandwich they are made fresh every day. There is a wide range of different sandwiches the earlier you are the better because they go quickly and once they are gone Asda tend not to restock.
The seats and tables are far too close together. When I was in a wheelchair I found it very difficult to manoeuvre in the cafe. Especially when the café is full of people it gets like an obstacle course.
So if you want cheap and cheerful choose Asda. If you want to pay a bit more and get something of quality then choose another café.
Advantages: None Disadvantages: Dirty, Unloved, Un cared for, Poor quality
...high onto another table then Asda Cafe, Cherry Tree Road is the place for you.
If ever the word "pits" was designed for an eating establishment...i know the very one.
Last week, my wife and myself were running late on our one day off together. We had been trying to find a bedroom carpet and it took longer than expected. We always have lunch together on our day off and as we were looking at carpets next door to Asda, and we had junior to pick up ... ...Asda Cafe as we were limited for time and choice and we thought it may have changed since the last time we were in.
WRONG...STILL ITS GOOD OLD SELF.
It was an absolute cazi...every table had debris on it, every foot of the floor had food on. The drinks machine looked as though it was comming up for its anual clean, and some of the staff were celebrating as some of the food looked as though it was on its 1st birthday.
We ended up getting a sandwich ...
