How a B&B should be
Review of Greystones Court Guest House, Yeovil by Shoka

Advantages: Well priced, central location to town centre, nice owners
Disadvantages: Only a couple of rooms with disabled access

...Hotel on your left. Greystones Court is two thirds of the way up the hill on the righthand side before you reach the roundabout at the top of the hill. From Dorchester follow signs to Yeovil on A37 at the end of the road you will reach a roundabout with The QuickSilver Mail Pub straight in front of you. Take the second exit signed to Yeovil, this is Hendford Hill and Greystones Court is on your left hand side. Yeovil & Dorchester Yeovil town centre itself is within walkable distance, it contains the standard selection of highstreet shops, places to eat and drink and usual leisure facilities. While we were staying at Greystones we took the opportunity to drive down into Dorchester which is only about 20 miles away. I wanted to show my other half Maiden Castle which is an impressive hill fort just outside of Dorchester. Dorchester... Read review

The Finnstown, Dublin - An Hotel with Personality
Review of Finnstown Country House Hotel, Lucan by Richard55

Advantages: A sense of open space yet close to Dublin City Centre
Disadvantages: Not ultra modern (is that a disadvantage???)

...One minute you are stuck in traffic on the busy M50 and the next you are in a peaceful country house hotel, seemingly miles out in the countryside. I have stayed at the hotel twice, once last summer and again in June 2007. The delight of the Finnstown is its 'old world' charm. A roaring fire in the lobby, antiques and interesting 'knick-knacks' in nooks and crannies wherever you look. A real change from sterile modern hotels. The bar and the restaurant are beautiful and the food superb. The hotel has just changed hands. When I was there recently the bar and restaurant were closed for alteration and rather dreary conference facilities were a substitute. The food quality and friendliness hadn't changed though. This is a hotel with personality. I hope that the new owners don't change that.... Read review

Sandwich,A Medieval Gem
Review of Sandwich (England) by ashford

Advantages: Charming,Historical, Medieval, Unspoilt,
Disadvantages: When major golf tournaments are on it gets very crowded

...fish and chip shops and take-aways. There is no need for you to go hungry in Sandwich, although,it must be said,it is not the cheapest place around for dining out. For overnight stays in this charming town there are several family-run hotels and places providing comfortable, homely, bed and breakfast accommodation at prices starting from around 18 pounds, per person, per night. Nearby Ramsgate,Dover and Deal also have some moderately priced small hotels and guest houses and there are also camping facilities and farm stays in the country villages around Sandwich. A number of these are highly attractive in their own right-places such as Ash and Wingham, are well worth a visit. You can get to Sandwich by rail from London through Ashford, Dover and Ramsgate whilst by road there is access by way of the M2/A2 road through Canterbury and Dover... Read review
