Never Again Review ofThe Grand Hotel, Scarboroughby

Advantages: It looks nice Disadvantages: Incredibly Shabby
...I had the misfortune to be stuck in Scarborough and needed a hotel. The Grand looked promising (appearances can be deceptive). certainly it charges "grand" prices. I paid what I would expect to pay for an average 3* hotel. I made the mistake of booking one night B&B
The place was almost full,. it transpired with a country and western convention.
The room, a twin, was cramped. It was allegedly ensuite (call the toilet and shower a broom cupboard). The room desperately needed redecoration/refurbishing/cleaning. I have to say that it is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
The hotel appears to cater for two separate "classes" which have different dining rooms and different quality of accomodation. I tried breakfast, a big queue to get into the "restaurant" (bizarre) then breakfast a rasher of bacon, a spoon of congealed baked beans...

Advantages: Beutiful views, loads to do, everything really. Disadvantages: bad journey by car
...and operates all the way from the Spa Complex through the south bay by the seafront, and round past the castle onto the north bay following the seafront all the way, before terminating at peaseholme park.
Cliff Lifts...
These have got to be part of the Scarborough experience as without these a visit to scarborough would be incomplete. Going down the hills is not too much of a problem but getting back up can be exhausting and very long, so you can use the cliff lifts. There are now, to my knowledge only two or three of these in Scarborough, all on the south bay, though there used to be five. They are small cars with with triangular supports on a track at a 45 degree angle, meaning that the car is the right way up...

Advantages: Heated pool, central location, evening meal was fabulous Disadvantages: Poor service, poor breakfast
...Myself and my husband found a great deal for a weekend away at Hackness grange hotel in Scarborough so we decided to give it a whirl. It is a 3 star so we didn't expect the ritz.
We were upgraded to a courtyard room- it was small, dingy and smelt of damp. Also members of staff were smoking outside our room so the room smelt of cigarette fumes. But the shower was fantastic!
The pool was lovely and warm and we had it all to ourselves for a good hour. The gardens were lovely aswell.
Food- the evening meal was fantastic, if you want a good meal then this was the place (£25 for 3 courses). I would recommend this place for dinner. Breakfast on the other hand was awful- one day the food was barely cooked and the next the chef was just making up the orders as he went along or the waitresses were sending to the wrong tables...

To begin with, there was very little space in the car park when we arrived, we just about managed to squeeze into a space but our driver had to get out the passenger side it was such a tight fit!
We later found out more guests would be arriving and were more
My impressions of this game when I saw it advertised on the internet was that it looked like a completely different type of game that I'm used to seeing for the DS.

I lived in New York City for a few years, but had little experience of its hotels until after I'd moved away. My husband and I stayed in the Library Hotel in late August of 2004 for two nights. After spending a few nights in one of its sister hotels the... more
