...Background ---------------- Ashdown Park Hotel is located in East Sussex, about 0.5 miles from Wych Cross in the heart of the English Countryside. Travelling from the North, it takes approx 45mins - 1hr to reach from the M23/Gatwick The hotel is owned by the 'Small Luxury Hotels of the World' (slh.com) Visit ------ My fiancee and I visited this hotel on a November weekend for 2 nights (sat & sun). Driving to the Hotel from London is extremely easy although the roads between the M23 and the Hotel can get congested. As you turn into the long driveway you reach two small car parks for the Hotel and the Hotel itself. The hotel is a spectacular mansion which has its own church. Advantages: Close to Gatwick, Excellent View & Facilities
Disadvantages: No Spa or Health Facilities Available

...My sister is due to be married within 2 years and I am to be the bridesmaid so we found fit to start looking for wedding venues, seeing as many are being booked up years in advance. We had a short list initially of about 5 and I left it to my sister to whittle it down to about 3. Being the following: * Alexander House and Utopia Spa (Near Turners Hill area but within close proximity to Gatwick) * Ashdown Park Hotel and County Club (Near Forest Row near East Grinstead) * South Lodge Hotel and Camellia Restaurant (in Lower Beeding close to Horsham). All 3 venues were chosen due to my sister living in Northern Ireland, originally from Surrey where I live but wanting to be married within close proximity of her roots. ...Several years ago I obtained a free accommodation Breakaway Package through renting a hire car for one month. I chose to stay for the two nights package at the Winston Manor Hotel, which is located at Beacon Road, Crowborough in East Sussex. The town,a small one,is very pleasant and is located in the heart of the delightful Ashdown Forest. The surrounding countryside is delightful and attractive towns such as Royal Tunbridge Wells and East Grinstead are both just a short drive away. Crowborough is,I should add,a rather small town and perhaps at first glance dosent seem to have a great deal to offer the short-stay visitor,However, first impressions can be misleading. There is a lot of greenery in and aroud the place,a number of interesting little shops,good pubs,coffee houses and cafes and some nice areas for leisurely walks. Just... Read review
