International Airport. Manchester city centre is 6 miles away, but accessible from the nearby train and metrolink stations. The Trafford Centre, Manchester United football stadium and several National Trust properties are also within easy reach of the hotel. The hotel has its own restaurant and bar and many boutique shops, cafes, restaurants and bars can be found in Hale, all within walking distance of the hotel.
...i recently visited the fair city of MAnchester in England and stayed at the holiday Inn Crowne Plaza. What a fantastic and imposing building it is, a very special hotel and one that is so big. It has everything going for it as the hotel has every thing you could ever need.
Wjhats more is that it is in a nice part of a pretty dodgy city, as far as I could see the place only has three nice streets and luckily the hotel is located on one of them.
If you have to go to Manchester for any reason then this is the place to stay but it is quite expensice for what is afetr all only a place to go to sleep...

Advantages: capital of the north, plenty to see and do Disadvantages: same as in all big cities - just use your head
...chain there are 2 Bella pasta’s in the city centre that I’m aware of – one in Piccadilly and the other one on Deansgate. Which means they’re both close enough to the pubs for you to enjoy a few drinks afterwards!
As for drinking – there are so many places to try. There are a few Wetherspoons pubs which are easy on the pocket and Lloyds Bar in the Printworks is part of the chain but actually plays music (far too loud for my liking though) Most of the pubs and bars in Manchester offer snacks and light eats and you may even spot a few celebs. So far me and Chris have bumped into Pete Poslethwaite in the Rat and Parrot, Ashley from Coronation Street in Tiger Tiger and various other coronation street actors in the Peveril of the Peak. Canal Street, also known as the gay village is a great setting for summer drinks by the canal. Me and Chris...

Advantages: Excellent Facilities, Brilliant Location, Helpful Staff Disadvantages: Not for someone who isn't prepared to spend a lot of money
...The Lowry Hotel is in my opinion the best hotel ever. Built only a couple of years ago, it offers fantastic facilities in a bright modern building with fantastic design. The hotel is situated in Manchesters deansgate district, and although located officially in Salford it is a short walk over the river Irwell to the bright lights of Manchester.
The hotel is owned by Rocco Forte Hotels and all of the design is overseen by Olga Polizzi (Sir Rocco's sister) who owns the mega-trendy Hotel Tresanton in Cornwall. The hotel in many places is minimalistic and has interesting sculptures and artwork around the building (especially the statue of LS Lowry in the lobby. The reception staff are corteous and helpful and the brilliant concierges are on hand to help you with your luggage and tasks such as theatre tickets in Manchester. The hotel also...

I stayed at the Tulip Inn (Trafford Centre) early in August as the Arctic Monkeys were playing at Lancashire Cricket Ground.
When we arrived the car park was quite full but had plenty of spaces, even though the hotel very obviously very busy.
