Advantages: handy for ferry, beach, town, County Park Disadvantages: none
This Premier Travel Inn is at Lodmoor Country Park in Weymouth, and very convenient for the Sea Life Centre, the town/beach and the ferry.
We were catching a ferry from Weymouth in Dorset to Jersey at 7am on the Sunday morning. We only live a 2.5 hour drive away, but didnt want to leave anything to chance and also being pregnant, wanted to make life as easy as possible! So we booked into the Premier Travel Inn at Weymouth. It is on the A353 and was 2 miles from the ferry.
We decided to visit the Sea Life centre as we had a free entry voucher from Tesco. I was still shocked at the price though as it cost £13.95 for 1 adult to get in. The centre was ok but I have seen better!
Lodmoor Country Park is quite good, there was a big slide and mini go carts for the kids, and you can park and visit all of the attractions ...
Advantages: see plenty of wildlife and very educational Disadvantages: expensive for familiies
Weymouth Sea Life Centre is well worth a visit - we had a 2 for 1 offer from Tesco's and I have recently seen a similar offer on a particular brand of tea bags. I often seen voucher of a similar nature in The Mirror Newspaper and have seen The Sun advertising vouchers of this nature too. In addition, the Weymouth Tourist Information Centre had a map of attractions that had a £5 off voucher, which because there were 3 of us, my father used to get money off his ticket
Price:
It costs £17 per adult, (so we were glad we'd got the 2 for 1 offer and I got Robert and myself in for £17 in total, which I thought was dear, but if you spend all day in there which we did, isn?t quite so bad) £14 for concessions, under 5''s go free, and children have a cheaper rate, which I do not remember as it wasn't applicable to our group. (Prices were ...
Advantages: Nice beach, friendly, lots of things to do Disadvantages: Traffic congestion in the summer & Car Park rip off prices
I have stayed at Weymouth for the last 3 summers and love the place, it is full of friendly people and there is loads to do. The annual Beach Volleyball Classic is superb and runs for three days over the summer at the beginning of August. I was amazed last year when I got one of the Volleyball programmes to see a picture of myself and brother and sister on the front cover!
This review is all about camping, I will include a few places to visit in and around Weymouth. Here are the sites I have stayed on, I have rated them in terms of my experiences: -
LITTLE SEA HAVEN HOLIDAYS SITE
This is a five star site and is popular for families with all the usual Haven facilities. There is an outdoor and indoor swimming pool, Nightclub with entertainment, Amusements, shop, takeaway, laundrette and outdoor play area plus caged football arena ...
