Advantages: Close to Domestic Airport Disadvantages: Too far from downtown Bangkok
...I stayed here in May 08 for 1 night. I was flying out of Donmuang Domestic airport early the next day and the location was ideal as it is a short drive away. On there website they show a bridge connecting the hotel to the airport, we were told this was now closed. Beware of the taxi touts who try and charge 300 Baht to take you there! A metered cab cost us 60 baht.
The room was as shown in the advertised pictures, complete with all the amenities, mini bar, bathrobe, tolitries. The beds were really comfotable.
My husband and I had some time to spare so were told by the hotel there was a very good shopping mall about 15-20 mins away. It was huge and I got the chance to buy items that are not aimed at tourists and therefore cheaper than places like MBK, Siam square.
I would only recommend this hotel to people who...

...Thailand is the most popular Asian country as it offers both city life and beautiful beaches. I like it for the superb shopping it offers and also the food !! Don't worry if you can't take spicy food. Not all Thai food are spicy. This Bangkok trip is more on shopping experience in Bangkok so if you need to know things like when does the Grand Palace open, I can't help.
Day 1
We flew in to BangkokAirport on a Thursday morning from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). We took the first AirAsia flight out (which departed at 8.05am) flight duration was 2 hours 5 minutes. Bangkok time is one hour behind Malaysia time. The airport is huge (it's the new Bangkokairport) and there are a few immigration exits which will lead you to the baggage reclaim area so pay attention to the screen to see where you can claim your bags before clearing immigration...

Advantages: Affordable luxury, gorgeous rooms Disadvantages: When the wind is blowing the wrong way, you can smell the pongy river from the pool

However, having done a reasonable amount of business and leisure travel over the years, particularly in Asia, the Peninsula Bangkok (let’s call it “PB” to avoid typing fatigue) is the best hotel in which I’ve ever stayed. And believe me, after being spoilt by business travel, I am very difficult to please.
I have stayed at the PB three times in total and always for leisure. The first time was in July 2002, when we (me and hubby-to-be) decided to have a last-night splurge after a fortnight in Thailand. We loved it so much...

As a fairly regular visitor to Bangkok, I always book flights and then sort out my own accommodation rather than get a package deal. Accommodation is cheap and plentiful there, we're talking £10 - £15 per night for what might equate to a three star... more
I choose this hotel as a result of a special offer on 'asiarooms'. On arrival we were promptly shown to our room by a very helpful member of staff.
The Deluxe room was a lot bigger tahn other hotels I have stayed in. However, it did seem a little... more
