...a formal dinner before taking off. I do recommend a brazilian buffet close to the Garden Hotel. it is around $60 Yuan per person. There is not much in the buffet bar, but there are some sambra dancers coming out from the kitchen with the barbarcue chicken wings and fried bananas ready to serve each of the customer. The dancers only come out after 6pm. there is really little time to enjoy if you need to go back on the same day. It is a place that you will love and hate. But Guangzhou still has a lot to discover, more next time. Advantages: Grand Palace, Good onward connections

...There is little to keep you in Bangkok - the Grand Palace is a must-see however. The place is smelly, polluted and charmless - the complete opposite of so much of the rest of Thailand. Bangkok's saving grace is its excellence as a travel hub - Bangkok Airways do great deals internally and increasingly through SE Asia and I've seen 3D/2N packages to the Maldives from here for 199US. For accommodation avoid the Khoa San road - overpriced farang haven that lives on a reputation long gone - far better to visit www.asiatravelmart.com in advance and pick up a hotel at anything up to 80% off the rack rate - after wandering round this city you need a good shower and a bit of comfort. For getting around try and use the river taxis (around 8 baht a trip) or the skytrain (more expensive but efficient and quick). Travelling by road is dangerous... Read review

Kota Kinabalu is famous for its Mount Kinabalu which is the highest mountain in South East Asia. Most foreigners come to KK to either climb Mount Kinabalu or to the beautiful islands famous for its scuba-diving and coral reefs.(KK used to be called Jesselton Town) Hyatt Kota Kinabalu is located next to a shopping mall, Wisma Merdeka. Location wise, it is a good hotel because a major shopping mall is right next to it and within walking distance, you could reach the sunday morning market which is a popular tourist spot.
