Advantages: Beautiful,historic monument
Disadvantages: You need to be able bodied to enjoy the best of it

The Asklepieion is probably the ...
.../> The origins of which are said to date back to the 3rd century BC.Sadly this magnificent site has been facelifted by earthquakes,several times since.

The site you see today was excavated in 1902,unearthing the true scale of what you see before you now.

Part of the early structure is a temple dedicated to Apollo.
The Romans got in on the act too and the Asklepieon shows remnants of early Roman baths.

My all time favourite holiday destination

Advantages: Beautiful, friendly, so so much to do

's only a few Euros for one person. You can miss the castle as its right on the waterfront. One of the most fascinating archaeological sites is about 7 miles out of Kos town and can be reached via the little dotto train which stops on the main road in front of the sea or by car, is the Asklepion which is a temple built for the god Asklepios - the god of healing. I'm by no means any sort of expert or even have a decent knowledge of archeology - I can hardly spell it!! But this place is well worth a visit. It's a huge open air site which has raised areas, almost like stairs, marble columns and amazing views from the top! There is a little shop at the front of it where you can buy orange juice and slush drinks in case you get too hot. The only drawback I can think of about Kos is the beach, it has a shingle beach and this obviously isn ...
