The Plaka Hotel is a real find. It is ideally situated at the foot of the Acropolis and is amongst ,or within easy walking distance, of many of Athens attractions. It is on the corner of a small side street just a hundred yards or so from the metro station that is at the end of the line from the airport. Some bedrooms do have a direct view to the Acropolis.
The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and the accomodation is generally clean and modern. Our room was quite small but not so much that it was a problem. There was an adequate amount of storage space. The bathroom was small and a bit dated but ok, considering the price! We paid £33 a night for a double room with breakfast and thought this was a real bargain. Make sure you compare sites for prices as they vary considerably.

Considering my tube of Margaret Astor mascara was free with a magazine, it is one of the best items of make up I have ever used.
I might not still have the magazine, let alone remember which one it was, but 7 months later I am still faithfully using my Margaret Astor Magic Style mascara. I have very sensitive eyes - anything remotely perfumed is out, and Maybelline Great Lash is a big no-no. Margaret Astor however is just right.

In a nice, sleek silver tube, this is a simple yet attractive tube of mascara. It doesn't look cheap but nor is it snobbish. The top/wand has a clear plastic rounded end with a cute little flower on it. This logo adorns all of the Margaret Astor range. As far as accommodation goes, there is an enormous Holiday Inn in the centre of town - if you can't find a room here, you're struggling. But even if they are full, for whatever reason, there are still a few variously scary motels and hotels scattered around. Being a city where the focus is on living rather than touring, the selection may be limited, but it's not a resort town, so if you're after five-star luxury, you're better off somewhere a bit fancier and less student-oriented. The Holiday Inn we stayed at was perfectly adequate - comfortable, reasonable-sized rooms, without being ornate. It's pretty much the standard motel room you'd find anywhere. Not terrific, but not bad either.

The Astor hotel is situated in the centre of Athens, in the historic Plaka area, next to all the museums, the main sights and monuments of the city, as well as the business centre. Because of its excellent position, it is an ideal choice for your stay, whether you are visiting Athens for business or for vacation. The structure is a modern building, elegantly furnished and with a wonderful roof top restaurant, where guests can enjoy breathtaking panoramic view over the Acropolis. The hotel\\\'s lobby and lounge bar is furthermore a perfect spot to arrange meetings, enjoy music or relax with a drink. The location of the hotel is the most suitable for all purposes, as the vicinity to Syntagma square underground station provides easy connection with the entire city. Numerous front desk services are available and it is possible to make different kinds of bookings and reservations. Aditional to this, the hotel has set 20 non smoking rooms, 8 rooms that meet disability requirements, majority of the rooms have balcony, the room service is available from 11h00 to 23h00 and the internet access in the room is free of charge. The Bar is working from 11h00 till 23h00 and the restaurant serves lunch from 12h30 to 15h00 and dinner from 19h30 to 22h30.
