at the service of our clients we still offer a recently renovated facility which respects the original stately spaces while providing state-of-the-art technology, thus enabling guests to enjoy modern-day comforts in a tried and true hotel. The hotel has 115 rooms, some of them suites and split-levels. They are equipped with direct line telephones, safety deposit boxes, mini-bars, TV with satellite channels, Canal Plus, fax and modem hook-ups, hair dryers and individually-controlled air conditioning units. On the eighth floor of the hotel, with magnificent views of the city, guests can make use of the gymnasium, sauna and an enticing terrace with a swimming pool and bar, where you can relax and savour a refreshing cocktail. Recently the hotel has opened a new exhibition with illustrations by the Catalan artist Ricard Opisso. This is a permanent exhibition that is held in the three main meeting rooms of the hotel. It has over 110 pieces that will add to the character to this unique and well established hotel of Barcelona?s Eixample. Other services include meeting rooms, a laundry service and room service. Our guests can also come to relish a menu featuring traditional Catalan cuisine at the Astor bar and restaurant. The hotel is located just a stone?s throw from the city?s most alluring shopping district: Diagonal avenue with its numerous fashion boutiques and design shops; Rambla Cataluña, the preferred promenade of Barcelona residents; and Paseo de Gracia, where we can find two of Gaudí?s masterpieces, La Pedrera and Casa Batlló.
Advantages: Value, Walking distance to city centre, nice clean rooms, friendly staff Disadvantages: No food and drink in rooms
...The Hotel Nunez is a pleasant hotel located within walking distance of Las Ramblas and the main centre of Barcelona's legendary nightlife. The Hotel is also located approximately 2 minutes from the nearest underground station which allows easy access to some of the further a field sites such as the Camp Nou and the Gaudi Cathedral. This also makes it possible to use the train to and from the airport for added convenience.
The Hotel itself was clean and the staff were pleasant. It was also possible to access the internet from the hotel lobby at no extra charge. The Hotel provides good value for money at around €30 per night for a twin room, and the rooms are a reasonable size and pleasantly decorated.
Overall the Hotel is ideal for groups planning a weekend trip to Barcelona looking to find good accomodation, close to the city centre...

Advantages: Central, good rooms and service Disadvantages: None really
...Hotel Continental is located on the ramblas. See if you can get a room that has a balcony facing on the ramblas. The ramblas comes alive from around 6/7pm at night and is a fantastic site to see.
The hotel itself is a really nice hotel. The rooms are of a generous size and are decorated in a homely style. The beds were comfortable, the room was very clean and the patio doors shut out the sound of the ramblas very well. It is a great base for you to discover Barcelona which is a beautiful city with much to see and do. It is situated perfectly for shopping, for the bus tours, you must do this, for the beach at the end of the ramblas and the port itself.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is also located very near to the train station so you are able to get to and from the airport via train should you wish to...

Advantages: Ideally located on the sea front and boasts pure oppulence Disadvantages: Most popular hotel in Barcelona and availability can be difficult to secure
...Probably considered to be one of the best hotels - if not, the bes hotel - in Europe.
It's modern contemporary style boasts pure elegance from the moment you step inside, particularly on entry to the first floor reception, which steps out onto a beautiful lawn, overlooking the sea, under the shadow of a large copper moument, which I do believe represents a fish.
The hotel rooms come with all the latest mod-cons and electonic gadgetary, from Bang and Olufsen music centres and televisions, to the electronically controlled blinds.
I was fortunate enough to stay in a suite on the 18th floor, with grand views across Barcelona from the harbour up towards the mountains in the distance. The benefit of the hotel is that whether you have a sea view or city view, both are stunning and you cannot be disappointed if you have not been given...
