Astraeus are a 'No frills' airline flying to mostly european destinations from various british airports including Manchester, Leeds Bradford and Belfast.
Check In No Queue, Unbelievable, Nobody, not one, not a bag in site, no screaming children up to early, no chav with a boom box, brilliant. Ticket-less check quick easy and simple.
Take-off
Although not qualified to comment on the actual take-off procedure, 3 essentials were met:
1. We did not crash and die 2. We left on time 3. I had a seat and could move my legs
The flight By the time wehad taken off, I had been for the obligatory post take off toilet break and eaten my breakfast (Bacon, Sausage, egg and beans) I had not realised that there was no entertainment. Only being a short 2 1/2 hr flight though it made a pleasent change, I didnt see half a movie, any repeats of friends or frasieror nearly cut off my own head when standing up realising that I was still wearing headphones etc.
On arrival (15 minutes early) in chambery, No sooner were we through customs when our bags were merrily rotating on the carousel. Excellent start to a holiday.
The Return:
Chambery airport check-in OH MY GOD, if you like rugby and your not sure where youre heading then this is the place for you! Dont think that the check in mele is down to Astaeus, more the design of the airport. but it was hellish.
The return flight took -off , again, bang on time and the brekkie was good-same again.
The Plane
A Boieng 737, dont know much about planes, as long as they get me there and dont crash, what does it matter, Plenty of leg room (Im 6ft 1")
Overall I would reccomend Astraeus for doing exactly what they say on the tin, flights to destinations, on time, no frills, simple.

I feel VH is a little generous for this review, but it was so amusing to read the "we did not crash and die" line swung it it for me. Had you have done of course I would have awarded this review a definite NH!!!!! Ha ha ha............Richard.
