On the gorgeous and perhaps on one of the most well-known beaches of Protaras stands the amazing Astreas Hotel Apts enjoying breathtaking views of the famous Fig Tree Bay. Accommodation: 36 one bedroom and 6 studios.
Advantages: Quality hotel in a beachside location. Disadvantages: Quite a distance from major tourist attractions.
...The Pernera beachhotel is in a lovely setting, overlooking the sea. There is a small selection of shops, bars and restaurants less than 5 minutes walk away.
Public areas are spacious, and there are 2 restaurants and a large bar with indoor and outdoor seating.
Half board's guests take their evening meal in the large taverna, with views over the sea.
The pool area is one of the best we have seen, with comfortable sunbeds and parasols. The water was just the right temperature for climbing straight in! This area does tend to fill up quickly, but there are also beds and parasols in the surrounding garden area.
The hotel advertises that it has its own private beach. Ignore this, as it is extremely small, and none too pretty. Just walk a couple more feet and you are on the public beach, which is beautiful, and the water is very...

Advantages: fantastic staff, lovely hotel Disadvantages: ants in the bathroom
...was nearing completion. Down a small road with a pub with a truely english name - Only Fools and Horses bar mmmmm classy.
First impression count with me and I was not to be dissappointed - the short but sweeping drive and entrance to the hotel was very Grand. A pale peachy coloured building with automatic glass doors and the sigh ANASTASIA BEACHHOTEL ****. Part of the Tsokkos group, there are a number of sister hotels in the Protaras area. The hotel offers traditional hospitable service, combined with the peaceful atmosphere and an ideal location, this hotel provides an excellent combination for a relaxing holiday. The hotel is conveniently located between the Protaras and Pernera areas, with its 190 rooms spread over 4 floors.
The driver unloaded our bags and bid us a happy hoilday. In through the automatic doors, in to air conditioned...

Advantages: fantastic 4* hotel Disadvantages: don't go there in the week that they close!
...sunbed each day, knowing that it will still be there. It is extremely safe there as well. Everybody leaves their cameras and money beside their sunbed knowing that it will not be touched.
BEACH
++++++
The beach of Fig Tree Bay is directly behind the hotel. You need to go down some steep steps to get to it. The beach provides changing rooms and showers. You need to pay for the sunbeds though. There is an extensive range of watersports from Stavros. There is a little island in the water which makes the beach feel a bit closed in and means that you are not looking out to vast endless water.
The beach has a minimal tide and shelves so that you walk down into the water quite quickly, however it is level for quite a way. The waves are minimal and the current is minimal.
