Aristoteles hotel in the city Athens
Advantages: the hotel is close to the city center, so that you want to shop or to other activities, need not Disadvantages: -
There are no modern hotels, but with the feel of a new Greek. enough for you to rest. This hotel provides facilities, Rooms small but clean, equipped with LCD TV, AC, a comfortable bed, bathroom with shower. Breakfast ok. Staff friendly and helpful, especially the receptionists who enjoy spending time talking with our guests. Free internet access. Good location, in the middle of town and not too far from the Acropolis and the nearest subway station. ...

Can't beat the location
Advantages: central location, friendly desk people, rooftop bar Disadvantages: cramped lobby, small rooms, slow lifts
In 2001 my family and I (at that time sons were aged 17, 15, 10) stayed several nights in the Attalos, taking 2 adjacent rooms. We were pleased to be just steps away from Monastiraki (with flea market and underground station) to the south, Omonia Square to the north and Syntagma Square to the east.
The front desk staff were brilliant -- the night clerk could speak Arabic which was fun. The only minus here was the cramped lobby which meant that getting ... ...bit of a push.
The view from the rooftop bar of the Acropolis is super; it's one of the best places in the city to have a drink and reflect on how the day's gone.
I've stayed in Athens as a tourist (and also worked and lived there for 4 years) since 1968 and this is clearly my favourite hotel. ...

A great hotel in a great location.
Advantages: Luxurious but not over the top. Disadvantages: mini bar prices
The Hilton hotel in Athens is a huge structure in a fantastic location for people visiting Athens, 1.7 miles from the city centre. It is a short taxi ride from the airport (about 20 minutes) and is great for those on business or just there to soak up the culture of the city. The main entrance to the hotel is a sweeping drive taking you round to the front door. When you arrive (whether by taxi or in a rental car), the car door is opened for you, and ... ...for bags to be taken to your room, although we did not use this service. After walking into the Hilton you realise that you are in a posh hotel. The jewelry shop sells rolex and bulgari watches. From the foyer, lifts take you up to one of the 12 floors.
From my hotel room on the 5th floor I had a clear view of the Acropolis which was a bonus. The hotel has recently been refurbished in a simple modern style which is highly aesthetically pleasing. ...

Athenaeum Luxury at the InterContinental
Advantages: Helpful staff, lovely bedrooms, mini-bus service into the centre Disadvantages: Not much in the local area, expensive, facilities not the best
...office tower rather than a hotel though. It's a very large hotel with over five hundred guest bedrooms over nine floors. Checking In: On both occasions it was very easy to check in and out again, the receptionists were all efficient, helpful and spoke excellent English. The reception area was also very well staffed with four staff members around at any one time to minimise queues. The Room: Very impressed with the room on both stays. On my first ... ...a facial soap. Hotel Facilities: These aren't excellent in my opinion. The swimming pool is outdoor only and only for summer use. Internet access is very poor, I believe 24 Euros for unlimited wireless access or 5 Euros per hour. Considering that I have stayed in four-star hotels with unlimited free usage both using wireless and a business centre I think that this is very poor. There is a beauty spa but having look at the brochure in my room it is ...
