...We had tried to book one of the posh hotels in Bath but alas all were full or so prohibitively expensive that we couldnt afford them, so we opted for a guesthouse instead. However, Paradise House is no ordinary Guesthouse as we soon discovered.
We booked through laterooms.com whom we have often used and found very good in general and were looking forward ot a lovely relaxation trip to Bath and all its wonders. We were not to be disappointed.
We found finding the hotel a little tricky as it is not well sign posted, however on arrival we knew we were onto a winner. The place is spottless with lots of those little personal details that make the difference.
Our room was large and spacious without being intimidatiing with a large window overlooking the surrounding Bath countryside. There were a few posters on the walls which we didnt...

Advantages: Beautiful. Elegant buildings.Masterpiece of urban planning Disadvantages: Expensive. Can get crowded
....There are elegant de luxe town hotels,country hotels,medium priced guesthouses, youth hostels and homely bed and breakfast places. Bath is replete with award winning restaurants,Pizza houses. Italian, French,Indian and Chinese restaurants and delightful old English tea rooms.
The surrounding countryside is delightful and this lovely city is a good base for day trips to the likes of Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves,Longleat House,Glastonbury and Wells....

...My boyfriend and I stayed at Dorian House for 2 nights during a stay in Bath last Autumn.
I found it via a website and was intrigued by the impressive pictures and the price seemed very reasonable for somewhere that had been awarded so many stars.
We at first thought about getting the double standard room for £80 a night but on closr inspection of the details realised that there was only a shower and no bath in the standard room so decided to pay a bit more as we wanted long soaks in the bath together for our romantic weekend away. In the end we opted for the large standard room with queen sized bed which had a bath (and shower attachment) and bath robes for £100 a night. There are also larger rooms with four posted beds for those who want to splash out a little more.
