Advantages: Lots to see and do, great public art, good value Disadvantages: I didn't stay long enough
buildings were rebuilt as closely to the original designs as possible. I asked two German friends their opinions of Hannover and neither was very positive; I was determined to prove them wrong.
Our hotel was on the Klagesmarkt, a short walk from the heart of the city via the red light area (we never saw any prostitutes on the street but there are a good handful of strip joints and sex shops) and the Old Town. As it was early on Saturday morning we skipped the red light area and proceeded directly to the Old Town. The reconstruction of these narrows streets is impressive and although they are new the painted houses have a lot of character. They are mainly four storeyed houses and painted so many different colours they really reminded me of the houses depicted in fairytale illustrations. These streets are full of little boutiques, cafes ...
Advantages: Superb location, comfortable accomodation, helpful staff Disadvantages: No major disadvantages to the actual hotel itself
In "the city that never sleeps," especially if you're visiting for the first time, it's all about site-seeing, shopping, and taking advantage of New York's endless amount of restuarants. So when choosing a hotel, it's all about location!
I took my first ever visit to New York (and certainly not my last, taking into consideration the amazing time I had there) in February 2007, for a school trip, and stayed in Park CentralHotel.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS

We were greeted by friendly staff who gave us our room keys, and we went off up the lifts (we didn't fancy taking the stairs, having being accomodated on numerous floors up the building!) to our room ...
Advantages: Cheap, close to shops, clubs and restaurants Disadvantages: Noisy, below par surroundings
I've stayed in a few Travelodges over the years and I have a particular view of them. This Travelodge did not live up to that image, I was quite disappointed with this hotel. Bear in mind that I've stayed in Travelodges in Portsmouth, Milton Keynes, etc, Bath is a few steps up on the "posh" scale so I was expecting maybe slightly more of this Travelodge. Not the slightly less that I received.
My partner and I went to Bath Travelodge for three nights over Valentine's weekend. Just a slight distance from the train station, a taxi at night is needed but it's an easy walk in the daylight, straight through all of the shops. Even from the outside, this TL is unlike most others. There are no huge, glaring signs pointing it out to every passerby, in fact I think you could easily miss it. Being in the town centre there is no car park, which is ...
