The city of Atlanta is a great place to spend a vacation. If you want to experience life in a big city, but can't cope with the crime and sheer size of places like New York or Los Angeles, Atlanta is perfect. The population is very sizeable, and the city is very warm in the summer! Usually 100 degrees, and quite humid. I personally enjoyed this very much.
Atlanta is the home of Coca Cola and CNN, and you can get tours of their magnificent buildings. At CNN you not only get to tour the news rooms, but also you have the chance of appearing live on TV on the talk show Talkback Live (remember to book tickets in advance by calling up CNN).
The people are warm and friendly - it's a vibrant community, with many different types of people. Shopping is second only to New York with Lenox Square Mall, Phipps Plaza and such places. Also Underground Atlanta is some experience! Bustinling with the people who make Atlanta what it is. Wonderful vacation experience!

Advantages: Great frequent flier scheme, reliable airline that knows what it is doing Disadvantages: Domestic flights rather basic and penny-pinching, no bimbo stewardesses (some might see that as an advantage!)
